You were born in Ireland Patrick and no amount of tattoos or bunting will change that fact. Anyway, the British don't want you. You're Irish Patrick, accept it.
You can claim British citizenship. But then you can claim that if you've lived in England for 5 years. We have an au pair, she's Spanish. Can now claim citizenship and be considered British. Everyone (including her) knows she s Spanish though. So being born in ni means you can claim citizenship of britain (can also claim Irish citizenship, or both) but doesn't mean you are from Britain. It's just what goes on a passport
