Wont believe it until its on the OS. £3.2 million plus a player who was never going to feature for us is a bit high, but probably just about acceptable.
I don't see that myself. I will be surprised if we make any signings over the £2 million mark. Still I do expect a big signing before the season tickets go on sale and ready for the start of the season. Players returning from holiday etc Things are about to get busy
Having let Doncaster have Simon Gillett, its the least they can do to return a favour and sell Sharp to us
I think he's worth about £2M at most but if he can fire us to promotion it'll be a bargain. Also we paid more for Delgado, Delap etc and i think Sharp would end up being better value for money than them!! FWIW i don't think we will end up signing him and if it is over £3M there must be better players out there for that money?!?!?
I've always been impressed with him. Great work rate, as Silverback says seems to pop up just at the right time. I'd love it if we signed him.
Even Pompey have managed to sign 2 players, though admittedly they are desperate. Have we really got no one or do you think they will be announced as a group (wishful thinking).
Sadly the prices of some players are just insane at the moment, potentially 4 million for a decent championship striker is crazy IMO.
Surely if we are spending big bucks on a striker we'd be better off paying the extra 800k for maynard?
you see, this is the dilemma - we have no idea what our budget is - maynard is better than sharp IMO but then again sharp would also add pace to our front line so he may be worth choosing if maynard is too pricey and we need to allocate spend to other players. then again this may be a drop in the ocean and we can easily afford maynard...who knows???
That's true, I would be very surprised if we spent over £5M. But then again NA could of been given £15M lol.
