Husband was at the game last night and said Sharp missed 2 sitters and gave away the penalty. Didn't feel he was as quick as the others. New boy nerves? Best on the field Lallana, Lambert and of course, Davis. What did others there think of our Billy?
I agree with Sharp missing 2 sitters, but he is getting into the right positions and will soon start banging in the goals I am sure. I disagree with Lallana being best player on pitch. I would personally say Frazer was, how many times he did over their player and made some nice rubs down wing. Just wish we had stretched play in 2nd half as Foxy & Frazer were hugging the line instead we tried to play it through the middle. Lambo to me was poor last night, but at least he had a shot with a free kick in first half and didn't dink it into box. Guly was just, i dont even know didn't do/offer anything.
Sharps tweet last night. billy sharp @billysharp10 Gutted I missed the easy chance shud of won it for us.never a pen never touched him.big @joshooiveld20 got me out the crap. #wontsleep2nite
I hope none of Billy Sharp's family or friends were at the game last night or they would have been totally ashamed of the dive and clutching of the face to get a fellow proffessional sent off. Maybe a soft penalty but should have been two before this one, I hope the FA take action
I missed the penalty decision so can't comment on that but Matt Taylor has raised his arms and you can't do that these days. I would like the FA to take action on your over aggressive tacking and Vaz Te's diving all over the floor as well but that goes completely unnoticed over your biased head.
We shouldn't write off Billy Sharp on the basis of a couple of poor games. He may well be trying too hard to make an immediate impact but he'll come good once he gets his first decent goal. We know what he's capable of.
Just to clear things up to prove your wasted thread. Taken this off a guys twitter account: https://twitter.com/#!/RichMerrydown/status/169692825892564992/photo/1
Christ, I don't feel quite as bad now at Billy's theatrics after seeing taylors hand squeezed around his wind pipe. skate!
Love how West Ham fans are angry at Billy when they are probably one of the dirtiest teams bar the unbeatable Brighton of course
It wasn't just billy though, I could hear constant booing down the radio. One time in particular when Kelvin went out to header the ball? They all went nuts. Very glad to see that picture though. Maybe he didn't need to go down, but that's a certain red at least.
I was at the game and ok he missed a sitter but every other aspect of his game is great! movement and strentgh is good and he works hard! i'm not at all worried about the miss! these things happen to the best of players! Just needs a goal and he'll go on a run! Haven't seen the highlights to comment on the pen but apparently it was harsh.
Let's face it, Rickie was sent off for less. As for Sharp, he will bag some vital goals for us this season, no question. Quite a few Premiership teams would probably swap their front two for Billy and Rickie.
Yea there fans were just mad because once again there players had seen red and were looking for any opportunity to 'even' things out
It may sound silly but for me just as important as his finishing is the strikers abilitiy to get into goal scorering posistions and it seems Billy is doing this aslong as he nets a few which he undoubtedly will its great. I would be a hypocrite if I said I didnt mind him rolling around on the floor I hate it whenever a footballer does that. However it seems thats neccersarry to get a decision nowadays.
Billy was terrible but I'm sure he'll get better. We were all at the other end of the ground - it certainly seemed to be a red, and according to Jos it was never a pen, but he admits he got away with a handball earlier which evens it out.
