Allow me to explain something very, very clear to you When people are claiming that Sweden is the example that all other countries should follow, people which tend to be on the alt-right side of the conversation (aka the "Masks violate my FREEZE PEACH" side of the conversation), the fact that the number of both cases and deaths in Sweden are significantly higher than their immediate neighbours and the fact that Sweden don't even know what herd immunity actually requires before implementing it anyway, that **** needs to be called out before another wannabe Dan Woottoonn starts spouting dangerously incorrect information just so they can feel self-important I would say that is the reason I refused to engage in your stupid questions in your previous point, but that would be a lie: the truth is that I don't need to, because when somebody is continuing to falsely hold up Sweden as an example of a country that has done anything other than ruin the soundtrack of all student nights since 1994 then I am not going to feed data into something that is patently wrong, because the fact is when something is patently wrong and has been demonstrated to be patently wrong there is no reason to humour people who retreat to their patently wrong position The fact you sneer the word "debunker" underlines it all, you're just vomiting data thinking it makes you look clever yet are only too keen to ignore the findings because they expose that you aren't
**** all the facts , my aunt isolated religiously throughout the first lock down and carried on isolating until she developed pneumonia 3 weeks ago, taken into Hopital she was successful in fighting the pneumonia and the day before she was due release they gave her a covid test, yes she had picked it up on the general ward , she passed away in the covid ward last night with her husband of 60 yrs talking to her via a phone She was a very fit 80 yr old who worked for charity and spent her last months worrying about all her old dears Sorry to bring a downer to the board
Thats awful Alfie, and I am sorry to say that's the true outcomes of this pandemic - Please accept my condolences for your loss
Sorry to hear that. At 61 it has ripped me apart. I developed bacterial pneumonia as well after COVID but fortunately for me antibiotics worked. One of the side effects of COVID is a lower resistance to other infections. I agree with you, **** the facts, too much bulls crap from both sides of the argument. Believe what you see and what you figure out. It is survival of the fittest. Don't believe the government, they don't care if old people die in care homes, few vote anyway, they just cost money. Every dead person over 66 is one less pension to them. Hospitals are dangerous places and the doctors know that. I can't understand why your aunt couldn't have been treated at home, did she need a ventilator?
Thank you gents , not a believer in the here after nor was she but if there is one she will be ensuring everybody has a drink and has there fill of grub Just thought, one of the last conversations I had with her was " that Johnson has made a right f in mess of this "
No mate , she was getting over the pneumonia and then they found the Covid over a week ago , Friday everything changed , she went down hill very fast and as you said I'm not sure but it seems like she was passed the ventilator stage
Sad to hear this. Behind every number in the statistics is a real person and it's worth remembering that.
Allow me to explain something very clear to you ... When a pandemic occurs in multiple locales, and one locale is suffering far less and is doing something quite different, the scientific method dictates that the reason for those differences are understood. If only to rule out the possibility of a statistical "outlier" . 2. Where was it said that Sweden is the paragon of dealing with Corona-chan ?? Nowhere. It was said they have had better outcomes than the likes of the UK 3. The fact that you so arrogantly proclaimed you are "debunking" something when all you have done is demonstrate 'wikipedia warrior' , speaks volumes about you. While I regard myself generally to be quite a "nasty piece of work" , at this moment in time I have not behaved on this forum in a manner that has brought me widespread scorn from other participants as you have. So with the Ensil vs LDL saga in mind, do us the courtesy of NOT replying to anything I post, and I will do likewise for you. But one final time, perhaps for the record will be so kind as to tell us what your academic background (qualifications, alma maters) and general day job is (consider it an act of confirming / "debunking" a hypothesis I have about you < scientific method > ) . Mine is on record here, on JA606, and possibly old 606 ...
Time will tell on that. "The choice isn't between deaths and economic damage." The matter is which (total deaths, economic damage) pairis are most acceptable to a nation, and what measures had to be enacted to make those pairs reality.
Sweden Population: 10.3m Population density: 64.7sq mi Covid numbers: 298,000 Covid deaths: 7200 Japan Population: 125.9m Population density: 865.1sq mi Covid numbers: 167,000 Covid deaths: 2334 One of these countries went into strict lockdown, the other decided to go for herd immunity in spite the fact that they failed to realise that herd immunity requires a percentage of the populace to be vaccinated, which is the exact same idiotic decision our government made because Dominic Cummings places computer modelling above things such as "facts" or "evidence" (see also: the A-Level fiasco this summer) More than anything else, this kills the "But Sweden..." argument dead, moreso than the fact Sweden's immediate neighbours have significantly lower numbers of cases and deaths, because when a country that has a population a mere 12.5 times that of Sweden and a population density that's the best part of 15 times of Sweden's have a lower number of cases and deaths, not a lower percentage but coverall figure, that is the point where people need to stop bleating about Sweden as a source of anything other than furniture and meatballs
