Playing FM12 as Spurs gives you a terrifying insight into what could have happened... * Harry named England manager * Dennis Wise appointed his assistant * Fat Frank given the captaincy
Someone said the other day about patterns (on an entirely different subject mind) and it got me thinking about Spurs under Levy/ENIC.... Hoddle - success Santini - failure Jol - success Ramos - failure Redknapp - success AVB - ??????? is it just me or does that look worrying pattern-like...
By that definition, Ramos would be a success - much more of a success than Hoddle, given he actually won said cup. Hoddle seemed to combine the worst of Harry and Ramos, if anything - he froze out a lot of players, he tinkered with one eye on the Worthington Cup final that stopped out league performances dead, and he went on a long streak without a win as well. Hoddle is what happens when you want a crowd-pleasing choice as manager, rather than the sensible choice.
Hoddle was a massive failure as a manager wherever he went. Chelsea, Spurs, Southampton, Wolves etc. I always thought Jol was the best manager Spurs had in the PL era. He and Arnesen were absolutely brilliant together and between them bought quality players for small fees. Redknapp will take the plaudits for Spurs achievements over the past 3 years but a lot of it was down to Jol giving the younger players a chance. Was Ramos really a complete failure? I know he flopped in the league but he still won you a first trophy in 9 years. Still sketched his name in Spurs history I guess
Jol won us the trophy, not Ramos IMHO Hod may have been a successful failure its true, like Graham was a failure that succeeded I suppose. Oh and DL, under ENIC/Levy I agree with you - Jol laid the foundations for success that Harry benefitted from, problem is I don't tink that Harry has laid the foundations for AVB to benefit from, if anything they have been significantly eroded.
You've got one of the worst managers in the PL managing your team. You're selling players left, right and centre.Modric has gone and Dawson looks to be going. AVB is a horrible manager and he isn't much as a person as well. Would you take Harry back now?I think he was a perfect manager for you guys...
Don't you just hate it when you wake up and can't get back to bed? So anyway I've just treated myself to a nice breakfast of egg and toast....not to forget a nice cuppa. Day off today so I'm going to cook a curry later today....fancy myself as a bit of a chef. Any of you lads a dab hand in the kitchen?
Morning Spurlock/Donamara. What sort of curry u cooking? I keep hearing that a Thai Green Curry is nice so I might cook myself one of them this weekend. I also find curry powder is better than curry paste, brings out the flavours more
You've got one of the worst managers in the PL managing your team....and you've got one of the most acute cases of Insomnia coupled with Tourettes I've seen, so I feel sorry for you. Do you shout rubbish whilst you're asleep aswell? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mornin guys, eggsellent idea Spurlock, might make mine a sarnie though. I don't do too bad in the kitchen apparently, case of having to really, the missus is utter ****e...broke a tooth on her gravy once! Curries!...step into my world!. If you want the best flavour make your own powder, once you've got a base, you can mess about and add to it to make Indian, Far East, and Caribbean curry as you wish!
Morning KH Thai green is a spicy number...my kinda pallet. I'm going to go for an Indian curry. Chicken and no jar pastes...must be herbs and powders as you suggest..just feels more authentic.
Shall we just merge this into the bill nick? For me it's all about the quality of the chili. Too many curries have that intensity that burns and stings your mouth. Finding decent or fresh chili's js something id recommend. Pop to tesco and get yourself some Dorset naga or scotch bonnet chili's. They're damn hot, but the intensity isnt the same.
Spurlock, it would be my pleasure, but it would take a bit long to explain, basically you need about 10, usual ones, cumin, fenugreek, coriander, tumeric etc, doesn't matter if any of them are in powder form, because you're only mixing it into one. Like anything, google is your best bet, then you can find any particular curry you fancy and its ingredients. Bit of a rigmarole getting all the stuff in the 1st place, but once you've got it, you won't need anything else for ages. Bit of fresh chilli aswell, to vary it coconut and Allspice for Caribbean, Lemongrass for Thai... can't go wrong!
