The last 2 funerals I've been to were humanist ones. I'm not bible thumper, but it's so final. Nothing for the family to hold onto. Very little comfort.

Humanist funerals are good IMO - they have the personal touch, all about the person/personality etc

 

I didn't say they were bad. It's nice hearing about 'old stuff'. The fact that there's no hope of ever being with the loved one you've lost...I don't understand why people think that's ok...what's the harm in believing?

 

because it's a ridiculous concept. when you die, it's lights out and you rot in a box

 

Whatever people do to get through life...

My mum's a big believer, fully on pape! It helps her - fair play tae her. If it get her thru life - it certianly helped after my Dad died.
