Looks like Pompey are well on their way to 3 points which will put them only 3 points behind us with a vastly better goal difference. I can't but help think that anything other than a win on Saturday will not do. No pressure lads but Coventry and Pompey don't look like dropping points at the moment.
Just picked this up on OTIB,it don't change our woes but it does lighten things up.... ' Just had a look at the Barca site, on a match day away we usually get about 6-700 following on the forum....gash took 83 ! please log in to view this image
When we have to look at other team's results to keep us in the Championship then we clearly do not have a team worthy of staying up. City have been coming apart at the seams for 3 to 4 years now and nobody saw fit to rectify the problems, and look where we are right now. I believe that a sad situation is about to become even sadder and you only have to look at the others breathing up our exhaust to see that we are probably going to get relegated, possibly on goal difference. I think some senior management should be hanging their individual heads in shame for letting down a loyal group of supporters in the worst way possible. Should the almost inevitable happen I believe that it will take a long time to get back the faith from the fans because it appears that they are the only ones who saw the problem coming.
Well mate if Pompey win or lose tonight we already knew the scores on the doors, Millwall and Forest have picked up points here and there to creep away, where we haven't. Any of the bottom 4 could go down, I just hope with the new guys added last week we have the strength to stay up, and picking up a point at Boro already shows improvement, so the fans have to get behind the boys.
At the moment it is still in our hands, we have more points than the teams below us. They won't win all their remaining games as we won't, we just need to match all their points going forward. I still have faith
I think Sexstone should just leave. This isn't the job for him and in my opinion it never was from the first day I read of his appointment back in 2001. From basic club matters to this whole fiasco with the stadium he isn't earning his wage and should step down. Then we can address the problems with the team. We need a new man who is actually capable of running a football club, not some ex R.A.F toff who has no previous background in football before us. As they say "it just ain't cricket", because this is football, and he is a shining beacon of an example of why we are stuck in deep shhh...mud.
ROD on their prediction game you said 12 and won but Aldershot's match report said they had 500 plus, the bbc said their total was only 2870,strange... So you've lost mate.....disappointed ain't you...
I consider myself a fairly optimistic person but that Watford game really made me worry. I couldn't believe heads went down after we conceded the first goal, it was shocking! We then got a decent result on Saturday but in the context of the other games a draw wasn't enough to stop others plugging the gap. Just get that feeling that events are conspiring against us. I really think Saturday is do or die. Coventry are away to an out of form Hull side and Pompey are at home to a hit and miss Burnley side. Let's just hope the good Burnley side turn up.
I've just looked at all the remaining fixtures involving Peterboro, Millwall, Forest, City, Coventry, Portsmouth and Doncaster. Based on the whole seasons form, home and away, I would forecast the following end to the season; Peterboro 4 pts more = 48 Forest 6 pts more = 46 Portsmouth 12 pts more = 45 City 9 pts more = 45 Millwall 3 pts more = 43 Doncaster 10 pts more = 42 Coventry 4 pts more = 39 I'll put all the predictions on here if anyone is interested but have tried very hard to be realistic for us especially but probably have slightly red tinted specs on. Derby - draw / Forest - draw / Coventry - win / Birmingham - lose / WHU - lose / Barnsley - win / Burnley - draw PS; Yes i agree that Sextone should go as he is a complete waste of money. Toffee nosed twerp!
'And Aldershot have won, those poor 83 fans driving home ' Actually....555...according to Aldershot's MR! http://www.theshots.co.uk/news/Aldershot84260.ink
cider dont exactly agree with your based on the whole season form forcast although Peterb play Coventry (a)and Florest (h) I think they will get 8 points more hopefully 6 against these 2!!!!
Our fate remains in our own hands (just), but Saturday will be the acid test as to whether we have the balls for the fight to the end and to give ourselves half a chance of surviving. Unless results and fortunes of the clubs around us change dramatically over the next 2-3 games, it's probably perm any 3 from the bottom 4 to go down still. I wish we'd had the ability and spirit to beat the likes of Watford and Portsmouth recently, but though it pains me to say it, I reckon anything less than a win on Saturday will likely see us relegated, and we could still easily finish bottom of the league, which looking at our goal difference, our lack of wins and Portsmouths points deductions wouldn't be an unfair reflection on the season. Sexstone out too, couldn't agree more, he's like a spare prick at a wedding. He has all the hallmarks of a smug, self satisfied twat who clearly knows nothing about football.
