Sam Allardyce has just been confirmed as the new West Ham manager, I do not
think West Ham are going are going to be out for too long, maybe a year or two
at most. Big Sam is going to make west Ham difficult to beat whenever they come back
to the premiership again. However, I think the appointment is six months late.:police:

West Ham fans have insisted that reclining seats be put in the Olympic stadium for health and safety reasons, with the ball likely to spend more time up in the air than on the grass, they don't want to suffer from whiplash.

I've talked about this in the Anfield Arms thread so i'll copy and paste my response:

To be fair to Sam, I think he will get West Ham up next season. Some of the players at West Ham were not trying hard enough (Yes, i'm talking about Carlton Cole!) and I think Sam will make sure that they are giving 100% for the shirt next season. He might not be everybody's cup of tea, but I think he is a good manager.

As long as he doesn't meet Man United in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.Now that has ''thrown game'' written all over it.

I hope they struggle and he gets sacked.

Don't like 'Big Sam' - He did well at Bolton and thought he was good enough for England. Failed badly at Newcastle. I'm glad Venky's got rid of him , Fergies ass kisser he is.

Alladyce is good as the underdog & when the expectations are low (Bolton, Blackburn) It'll be different at West Ham coz he'll be expected to get them promoted in his first season - hope he fails !

After the fuss he made in 2009 when Rafa gestured at Xabi Alonso to forget what he said and tried to make out Rafa gestured ''game over'' and then had the audacity to involve Slur Moanalot who came out with his ''Contempt and beyond the pale'' rant, which was never interpreted by the media as being a rant.I wonder why that is?Yet Rafa's attack okay it was a bit long-winded,but was never a rant.I made this point before that in order to ''rant'' you must spout pure gibberish that makes **** all sense.Rafa was clear and concise and therefore didn't rant.Ferguson did rant as his ''contempt and beyond the pale'' speech made **** all sense.W

I think he will be excellent at West Ham. He has a point to prove and is experienced. Exactly what they need.

Wouldn't surprise me if they came straight back up

That's what I said as well. It does seem that everybody else doesn't agree with us though...

Yer. He plays ugly, but he plays well.

That's all people need to consider imo. Sam is a very good at a certain level.

    Yeah, completely agree.

Considering West Ham's current financial situation, they need a manager that is going to take them up at the first attempt, rather than play 'The West Ham Way' and then not get promoted. <ok>

    Exactly yer.

I heard a West Ham on the radio complaining that they should of got a 'good' manager.

Well exactly who is that in the Championship?

No doubt he'll take West ham back up, but that's as far as it'll go. The structure of the club needs changing, and West Ham need a innovative new manager if they are going to stave off relegation as soon as they come back up.

I think he is a good manager. He is going to tell the players that aren't trying at West Ham exactly what he thinks of them. And yeah, I don't think they could have got a better manager for the current situation they are in.

I think he can stay there while the club makes changes. He would be a safe pair of hands, keeping the team afloat.
