My view isn't blinkered at all, it's based on me not once having seen him put in that performance that lifts the whole side when they're playing ****.
Quite the opposite really, when the team plays **** he disappears.

I dislike the bloke, yes, but I'm not too blind to say that he's very good.

He just is not as good as you'd like to believe, no way.

They're so desperate for a hero that they massively overrate him. Some of them are the first to accuse other sides above them in the table of being one man teams. How come Liverpool are languishing in mediocrity if they have such a fantastic one man backed up by some decent players?

In fairness he is a top quality player, yes they go OTT about him, but they do that about everything.

They're mediocre as overall they're a mediocre side, lead by the Northern Irish David Brent.

(I bet he won't be comparing himself to Shanks this week <laugh>)

They talk about him being in the top 3 or 5 players in the world. It's laughable.

It's what they do, they have to compare everything on a 'World' basis, as that way they can continue to delude themselves that they're of 'World' standing in 2013.

Brent sussed this trait out early doors & has played up to it. My personal favourite was him stating that Glen Johnson was 2nd only to Dani Alves in the World of right backs <laugh>

I did say in my original post it's not certain which way the link lies. Does Suarez rely on the rest of the team playing well to give him the support and freedom to score, or does the rest of the team rely on Suarez playing well to inspire them. Either way, the correlation between poor Liverpool performances and poor Suarez performances is pretty stark.

Can you name any of those times? Other than Handballgate and Zenit, which was a couple of fantastic free kicks rather than a general all round great performance imo, I can't think of a single occasion when your team as a whole has played poorly and Suarez has lifted you to a win.

I take it to be Cuthbert then as the others would be a tad fanciful.

    Am I right Mr McGrew?
