Freeman played a big part in our first goal, kept the ball well then found Cunningham who set up Wilbrahamovic. Freeman will come good, just needs to get used to his new teammates and position.

i think it will help when we dont have mid-week games to contend with too. no time for the players to get used to winning before cotts changed the team and we got dicked.
hopefully those that finished yesterdays game will start tuesday so they can pick up from where they left off

Hello red squirrel, nice to see you posting,

I would be happy to see Pack start but would feel a little sorry for whoever gets dropped as no one has really deserved the hook yet.

Smith and Wilbraham are now irreplaceable.
Alby for his goals and Smith for the engine room

Take those two out and we are not as strong

I agree re. the comment about Cunningham and would consider a change, but I think it's a little too early. Also I was bemoaning the substitutes on Saturday, taking off two players with pace and replacing them. Then we score!! What do I know about football, so please will everybody just treat my posts as the ramblings of an old git who doesn't know what he is talking about (if you don't already)

Our defence will face it's biggest test yet against the O's, if they do well against this forward line then things should go well for the remainder of the campaign. Put Henderson down for a goal for them, he always scores against us (like David Kelly used to)!

They ought to put on Wiki for David Kelly's goals in brackets against us. Think he got his majority of goals against us the bastard.

How many said Wilbraham why have we signed him.
Have to say he has been the best of the signings so far, with Little right behind him.

Tonight will be a good test to how far we have come, beat these and that will show us if we have what it takes for top two spot.

This is why I would like to see Pack in for this game with smith alongside him, they have an awesome strike force, we need to protect Fielding a little more than usual, I would probably go

Fielding

Little Flint El abd Williams (or Ayling no preference)

Pack Smith

Elliot Freeman

Sam

Wilbs

Freeman can give us width on the left and Little can overlap on the right.. 2 DM's to nullify around the edge of our area..

Think he will play the same team tonight.. I'm not convinced about Pack, yeah he had a good 20 minutes or so on Saturday but on Tuesday he was beyond dreadful. I'd only put in Pack if Elliot feels like his legs can't take Saturday, Tuesday.. he is 35 after all..

I hope they wrap Elliott in cotton wool - he is that good.
However, this is a top-of-the-table clash and we need our best players turning it on

If Gerrard can drive Liverpool to the summit, then Elliott can give us a couple more seasons yet - he looks fit and supple for his age.
Don't forget, Gordon Strachan played until he was nearly 40

Start with Elliott with Pack to replace him when needed- I might be tempted with a flat back 4 to protect Fielding more but we are at home and a 3-5-2 is more of an attacking option, which Cotterill has hinted at. Use El Abd as replacement for Cunningham when needed- Very much like Saturday then.- JET an option up front if needed

Let the opposition fear us,not us fear them.

Three points tonight and that will be our best start since time began.

This let them fear us philosophy is all well and good, going out there with 3 at the back against what looks like the strongest front line in the division.! I fear we could be chasing the game
before we know it, and then you won't want DM's coming on will you. better to keep it tight and then chase at the end if need be.

Cotterill is not stupid, I'm certain he won't be Gung ho for this one.! taking Cunningham out will tighten us and he hasn't been pulling any trees up.

i think we are different gravy this year.I cannot wait for tonight.

who thought we would beat Sheffield in their own backyard not many of us,but i believed we would, and i believe we will win tonight and on Saturday at Rochdale.

We have quality in the team, something we have not had in abundance for a long while.

Time to show who is best.

onward s and upwards

we are going for it according to Cotts- as said let them fear us.

Manager insists City's approach will not change.
Steve Cotterill has promised to continue with his attack-minded approach when Leyton Orient visit Ashton Gate tonight (7.45pm).

City have made the perfect start to the new season with victories over Sheffield United and Colchester United, but a meeting with last season’s Sky Bet League One play-off finalists represents another tricky test.

However, Cotterill is adamant City’s style will not change, regardless of the opposition.

“We’ll go for it. What they’ll do, we don’t really know, because we’re not in charge of their tactics. But we’ll look to win the game like we do every game,” he told Bristol City Player.

“If we can get our noses in front it’s always good because the other team has got to come out, rather than having to play against a packed defence.

“We’re okay with that but you can’t pick and choose as a manager when your team is going to score.

“The boys have trained well this morning and trained well yesterday, so we’re looking forward to the game.”

The O’s were the division’s early frontrunners last term and only denied promotion in a penalty shoot-out after squandering a 2-0 lead against Rotherham United.

“We’ve done enough work on Orient,” Cotterill continued. “Russell (Slade, Orient manager) has done very well with them and I thought they were very unlucky last year.

“I was at the play-off final and I thought they were the team who shaded it, if I’m completely honest. Especially with going a couple of goals up, I thought they would see the job out.”

Meanwhile, the City boss revealed he has a fully fit squad to choose from, insisting Luke Freeman was only substituted against Colchester due to fatigue.

It won't be any good to us if we have to score 3 every game to win.. this would all be very well from you RR, but if we lose tonight by being to attack minded you will be the first to come on here complaining, probably blaming the defence.!
