Getting shot of them all seems to be a bit excessive, but behind the key/young players (Snoddy, Becchio, McCormack, White, Lees, Clayton etc.) I would be happy with a major overhaul.
Bates will be happy to fund a new squad spending spree I'm sure. More likely is, the players mentioned will be sold & more Danny Webbers will arrive. No wind-up.
Warnock will be using a bit of gamesmanship - He needs to make it sound worse than it is. Imagine if we had played as poor as this but scraped a couple more very lucky wins - Bates would have asked why we are so far off yet only a point outside of promotion. Warnock has been around long enough and he knows it will be a major battle persuading Bates to back him.
