Yes, we ought to wipe the floor
With the next two we meet,
But don´t be shocked if we draw
    One, or get one defeat

    Winning runs don´t often go
    On and on endlessly,
    After yesterday´s warm glow
    The danger´s there to see

Two sídes struggling near the foot
With no hope, so you´d think,
If we´re sloppy, they could shoot
    Us down, before we blink

We´ve seen enough scores this year
    To know it´s nothing new,
    Even with A. Neil here
    He´ll know himself, it´s true

    Already, the point he´s made
    The Derby´s been and gone,
Focus on those to be played
    Forget what has gone on

    Not that I´m unduly scared
    That we´re for a collapse,
But I´m sure the thought he´s aired
    To avoid any lapse

Up to now the path he´s trod
Has been paved all in gold,
    It would be extremely odd
If his touch should go cold

    But beware, banana skins
    Are commonplace down here,
I look forward to two wins
If our lot all appear. OTBC - INIT

NB: It´s absolutely no reflection on Neil, who has been stupendous since he came, or the team, it´s just what does happen (rather too often for my liking) in this league. He knows just how dangerous this next one, in particular, is, it´s a classic case of ´after the Lord Mayor´s show´ and he´s already been out urging fans to keep the noise levels up, so he´s pressing all the right knobs, just hope it has the right effect. <ok>

Agree. I recall winning at the Portaloo at the turn of the century (Iwan bagged a couple) and all looked rosy. We returned to home soil for a midweek clash with bottom of the league Swindon and they thumped us 3-0 if I remember correctly! Having said that, Bryan Hamilton was our manager, so that might have had something to do with it...

I think I remember that one too Super, happens all the time, when least expected, I mean who would have seriously predicted Derby to lose at Fulham and ´Boro to lose at Sheff W last time out?

Concentration, focus and patience would be my watchwords Wednesday

The world keeps revolving plenty of water to go under the bridge yet
Missed the game tonight as was working so can only have emotion on the result and that feeling is we are still in the mix
Keep smiling the world is green and yellow

Massively disappointing, of course, and so typical of City. Especially this season. At home against the bottom clubs, we either slaughter them or drop stupid points. So many stupid points dropped at home this year. We don't seem to be able to just grind out dull wins against poorer opposition. (Except for Ipswich, of course.)

On the other hand, if someone had told us when Neil was appointed that we would be 4 points off top and 3 points off automatic with 11 games to go, we would all have been happy.

8+ wins almost certain automatic, I think. 7 wins maybe, especially if 2 of those wins are against Derby and Boro. 6 or less probably play offs at best.

Malky's Wigan should be no surprise after Malky's Cardiff last season! :(

It's only one game and it reflects what has been happening to Derby, Boro and Bournemouth lately as well. In over 40 years of supporting City this is nothing new. The key now is to see that it's just a blip and produce a convincing performance and result against Millwall. The Grabban injury and surgery concerns me as well, as we're down to two senior strikers now. That will limit our tactical options and I shudder to think about what could happen if we lose one or both of those now. Just look at Derby with both Martin and Bent out with hamstring injuries. It's going to be a very nervous run-in from here.

Well you did call this RBF and fair play to you for that. I am now firmly back with feet on the ground! That will teach me.

I think Neil did it deliberately.

He can then say to the players "remember Wigan? You were a dusgerraaayse" as he terrifies them before each match.

Be nice to think so Rick, but the pose he struck when talking to Goreham after the game, didn´t exactly suggest that. I have a feeling one or two will lift their game on Saturday. :)
