I turned up for work this morning and all of the neutrals said the same, we were unlucky. Sometimes the neutral is the best judge of a game although they are unlikely to have watched the game live. We think one way and the Gooners think the opposite.
I do disagree with the guy about the quality of the Arsenal back four. Holt and Jackson tore them apart as have other strikers at times this season.

I work with a Gunners season ticket holder and he admitted we deserved the point and even three. He was very critical of Arsenal and accused them of taking us too lightly and thinking they would roll over us.

He said that our performance was one of the best a visting side had put on at the Emirates this year and that if we "tightened our defence" we'd be a real force.

Most neutrals I've spoken to also say we deserved to win the game - shame most of the Gooners comments on their blogs and websites taste of sour grapes as it shows a lack of appreciation of our teams efforts.

Yes, it is a shame oldcanariesfan, but you can substitute any other club's fans for "Gooners" and the same would hold true. "Football fan" and "balanced view", taken in conjunction, are another oxymoron. That said, there's always the exception to the rule -- as witness the Arsenal fan who wrote this blog.

I accept your apology supers -- for accusing me of being a "closet" Gooner. I have never made any secret of the fact that Arsenal are my "second" team, and have said so on numerous posts, as well as on my profiles on 606 and 12yards. I don't defend "Arsenal fans" as such; I'm against the sort of generalisation which tars large numbers of perfectly decent people with a brush dipped in the vileness of a minority. That sort of stereotyping is unnecessary, ill-founded and in itself an evil -- as witness racism, sexism, ageism, etc., etc.

No worries. Sunday is a massive day for Arsenal. Are the players Wenger has available capable of doing the business at the Hawthorns? Losing Walcott and Arteta in the run in was a big blow; and now Sagna has gone. When you take into account the players who have been out of action for such a lot of the season, it is pretty remarkable that Arsenal are sitting in 3rd, above the best Spurs team for decades, above Chelsea, above Liverpool, above a resurgent Newcastle. May not end like that, but pretty remarkable all the same. Fortunate, I guess, in that Chelsea and Liverpool have shot themselves in the foot with such regularity over the season.

Anyway, if it goes pear-shaped on Sunday, you can all have a good laugh at my expense <laugh>

i hope you don't take this the wrong way robbie but based purely on the events of the past weekend, i'd be over the moon if arsenal screw it up and finish 5th. or, even funnier would be for them to finish 4th and then chelsea win the champions league and take the spot off them! in the immortal words of kevin keegan, "i'd love it" <ok>

Arsenal fans are known for their delusions of grandeur but it's a relatively recent thing. They've been very successful but not half as much recently and many of them but into the fact that their style of football is the only style and any style that combats it (our style for instance) immediately makes us stoke

But let's face it, most "big club" fans have their heads up their arses.
