I couldn't be bothered with the hassle and asked for a full refund, they gave it to me last night. There's no point wasting the time for anything else because they wouldn't pay you anything more than you placed.
Yeah, I asked for them both to be taken off and got my £100 back. I don't know if this was because I emailed them before the race or not.
Now I knew a bookie could cancel a bet at any time if they didn't like it but to change the odds so drastically without offering a get out to the punter is surely a bit fishy. I think WH could have gotten away with this but for the 100/1 forced offering. An Alonso/Massa 1,2 in any order was nowhere near 100/1 so the opposite should not be anywhere near 1/100. The responses I have had from WH so far seem to be showing themselves to be backing more and more into a corner so I'm happy with that so far. They should have just cancelled the bets and saved us all the hassle The only outcome so far is a total lack of trust in WH
"I can offer you a £10 free bet as a gesture of goodwill, and we will immediately credit it to your account once we receive confirmation that you have accepted this offer as a goodwill gesture on our side." Although they still refuse to explain how 1/100 is reasonable. Given that a Ferrari double podium was 8/1 I don't see how a 1,2 could be anything close to ~100/1. Nor can they explain the gap between realising on Thursday and then telling me on the Sunday. I've not accepted the gesture btw.
I think i'm going to email them again and ask why some people are getting more than others. Thanks for posting that
I have confirmation IBAS are looking into my case. btw don't take the bribe as obviously you wont be able to take action as you would already have accepted their offer. Also just think of the interest they are making on our money while this thing is being dragged out.
I put a bet on at william hill for Vettel to win so I've won my money back plus some. El_bando 2-1 William hill
I have a 28/1 bet on Vettel winning all remaining races. No doubt he'll lose in Brazil. Fred 0 - 2 WH.
Victory. IBAS have written to say William hill will now pay out the correct odds they given in the first place.
I don't think they had any option tbh, if they'd put realistic odds on instead of the 1/100 they may [/]have gotten away with it, but that coupled with their 3 days of silence after realising their mistake really just showed them to be greedy
If you want another easy win to get one over on WH http://sports.williamhill.com/bet/en-gb/betting/g/1449138/Top-3-Finish-2013.html Bet on both Hamilton and Webber to come 3rd in the championship. You could do Rosberg too but I doubt that'll happen. Seeing how Kimi won't be driving it's a pretty much guaranteed win.
