For me its Faurlin, Traore or Helguson Faurlin because every game he seems to be improving and that his work rate and tackling are by far under rated and not credited. He really is our gem and our playmaker. Traore as well because he has been very good since signing from Arsenal, seems to be playing well since hes been playing most games and not sitting in the reserves. Awesome going forward and is getting better defensively every game. Helguson as no one would have thought he could have scored goals at this level, dont know if it because he has more quality around him or better service but he has been outstanding since the Blackburn game. Is there any other striker in the premier league who is better in the air than him? I also would like to note the resurgence of Jamie Mackie, he gives us so much drive, energy and epitomizes what is good at this football club.
Helguson and Faurlin for me also. I would say that out of all the newbies, Young has been the most consistent. The others have all done well and had a couple of stand out games each, but Young has been solid in every game (except maybe Fulham where he was played out of position), topping it off with a finely taken goal on Saturday.
I'd go for Mackie. Everything seems to have clicked since his return. His non-stop hassling of our opponents when they have the ball, and his chasing of everything has “upped” the whole team.
Slightly off topic I know, but the medical/coaching crew have played a blinder so far with Jamie, Gabbidon and Hill, not to mention having their hands full having to deal with Dyer (who will be back to full fitness within days) DJ's afflictions (broken foot bone and various plagues and viruses) and of course Adel's tummy and nose (out of joint but soon to be fixed right and proper like Mick McCarthy's).
There have been some fine performances for me,but it's gotta be Heidar simply for the fact i didn't think he still had it in him at this level. What with Jay's slow start and DJ's injury he has been invaluable. But what really sways it for me is his attitude, unselfishly running the channels and tracking back, getting knocked down and getting straight back up.No moaning just getting on with the job and scoring.A revelation!
Young, Ferdinand & Traore of the new recruits. Gabbidon deserves an honourable mention also. Faurlin and Helguson of the Championship team.
Isn't it great to have a choice? All round I'd go for Faurlin, but 4 or 5 of the others already mentioned (Young as well) have been great. This is turning into a very good team which can only get better.
From what I've seen, Ferdinand has been a revelation. Not normally known for consistency and possibly made the odd mistake but he's turned an npc defense into a prem one and the defensive unit will only get better with more game time and understanding. Honourable mentions: HH is definitely man of the moment and putting in great performances. SWP has been lively, not produced final product yet but keeps players on their toes and I love the fact that he plays with a smile on his face - can only be a good influence. Mackie for his perseverance in both playing and getting back from injury - can't say enough nice things about his attitude. Not too many to say have been bad - Puncheon hasn't impressed me. AT is off form but I live in hope....
The two center-halves have been good but I'd go for the Iceman. And yeah, I suppose COLIN has done a job too.
I would say the whole lot have performed well above many people's expectations, who would have thought after the Bolton debacle that after 12 games we would be sitting 9th, won 3 away from home, kept 4 clean sheets and beaten chelsea. It is a quite remarkable turnaround and everyone involved should get a round of
Ah now DL you're not that bad, still be top 7 by end of season Seriously i hope that Abramovich gives AVB a chance because you can see how he is trying to change things, its just that at the moment there are a few weak links in the side, no doubt he will change that in January.
