    · Football best games – Play-off semi and final for obvious reasons, but few QPR games (Barnsley and Forest at home honourable exceptions) were enjoyable in pure footballing terms.

    · Books – haven’t read enough recently, but heard James Ellroy interviewed on radio recently and was impressed by his sixtiesness. I resolve to read Perfidia.

    • Film – More haven’t yet, but intend to, sadly – Interstellar (love Christopher Nolan) and The Imitation Game
    • Beer – London Pride
    • Band – Not that new, but Of Monsters And Men are good.
    • Kitchen gadget - Corkscrew
    • Household gadget – See above
    • Shoes – Clarks Wayfinders
    • Cheese – Tesco Cheddar with Scotch Bonnet Chillies
    • Realistic Car to own if you are not Iwasanother or Wubba – Don’t drive, but find the recent Mini Cooper series attractive.
    • Pub - The King’s Head Marylebone
    • Not606 poster – SB73 (shape up Uber)

Football match - Wembley May 24th - perhaps the most emotional moment I've ever experienced at a football match when a dream and goal that appeared to be eluding us was delivered in the last minute. I don't mind admitting tears were shed...

    I'll leave it at that...

Most punchable person - where to start? No, honestly, where to start? OK the bloke standing blocking the entrance to the supermarket with his kid in a trolley, wearing some kind of fishermans smock, staring into the middle distance on 23rd December, as my daughter and I went to do the pre Christmas shop. When I said 'excuse me' with a sigh he sneered 'sorry for ruining your Christmas' with extra greasy sarcasm and sloped off. To my slight shame (and my daughter's delight) I followed him a few paces and said 'I accept your apology, now shut the **** up'. I'm a big bloke but out of condition (10 points for the film reference) and he had at least 15 years on me, but the look of terror in his eyes was very gratifying. I have also had run ins with a kebab shop owner and our local pub landlord (its a good pub, 50 yards from my house, but he's taken to leaving his giant waste bins on the footpath) recently. Who says age brings serenity and perpsective?

TV programme - just realised I hardly ever watch TV except for news, football and Family Guy with my final espresso of the day. Loved House of Cards on Netflix though.

Right time for Wilko and prosecco. happy New Year.

    Tricky this Stan

Football Match - Gotta be OBZ Day
Book -'The Plot Against America' by Philip Roth. Published a while back but I only got around to reading it
Film - 'Journey to Le Mans'
Beer - Kwaremont. Drank a lot of this watching the Tour of Flanders
    Band - The Crystal Fighters
Kitchen Gadget - My mini shwarma maker
Household Gadget - Does valet parking at my apartment count? Never have to negotiate the basement car park again
Shoes - A new pair of dealer boots
Cheese - A big year for middle eastern cheeses for me but the clear winner was the Labneh with mint. A revelation
Car - When you live somewhere where petrol costs 20p a litre then a 6.2 litre car makes sense. Clearly my Ford F150 Raptor is ideal and even has a suitably macho name to bring the 17 year old out in me
Pub - Yalhalla Bar at the Doha Hilton. Terribly dated, noisy and the food is awful but it seems to have an endless happy hour and shows non stop football & rugby. Special mention for the complimentary wasabi nuts
Not606 Poster - All of us and a big thanks to all of you I met on OBZ Day

    Fans of the year:
    QPR (for their patience)
Hertha Berlin Ostkurve - I'm convinced these blokes can't actually see the game from where they stand, yet 7,000 of them sing, chant and clap in unison before, during and after the game. Constantly. And their team is pretty poor.
Beskitas Carsi - support the Carsi 35!
