Best night i've had in ages - Bezza and Gibson

First of all, to all those who were wondering about Enrique; Gibson and Beresford have heard that he's going, and that Pardew has been told to say that nothing has been discussed between the club and Jose.

Gibson and Bezza gave their professional opinons, and based on the information and words that they've heard, Pardew has just been hired to keep the fans and the owner happy, and to say the right things. They think he's done a decent job at the club, but not to give him credit until he has made the signings, as he's crafty when it comes to sweet talking the fans and protecting the owner, and his real test as a manager should be the transfer window and where we are at christmas 2011.

One of the first things they talked about was Ameobi - This is a direct quote from John Gibson who i have to say is a full on geordie faithful bloke -

"It's worrying to think that our current top striker is Ameobi, but WAIT, now there's two Ameobi's... and they're singing a ****ing song about it?"



It was all in good humour though! I was expecting it to be formal and civilized but it was just a couple of blokes that love the club having a good conversation with 80-90 toon fans.

Bezza was talking about his experiences with the lads back when he was here...

GET THIS - Back then the lads had a coach with an onboard television to keep them entertained on the journies home, and Tino Asprilla brung a porn video on the coach, and Shearer, Tino and Bezza, and a bunch of all the other lads were all watching this Italian lass getting banged.

Bezza said "What the hell is this Tino", and Tino said "Thas my missus"

Anyway, it was a great night and everyone there was talking about the state of the club and Gibson gave his view on what he thinks will happen - This is a direct quote -

"I personally think that we should buy british, as we cannot risk buying some foreigner like we have done countless times in the past. However, what i believe the club will do, is buy some unknown foreign player that has the thumbs up from Ashley's scouts, and Pardew will get in his press box and spout a bunch of dictated ****e about how he thinks the player is right for the club and he's what we need, but he will cleverly say it in a way that sounds pleasing to the fans and keeps the club and Ashley free from bolt loads of criticism.

Meanwhile, Ashley will be keeping his fingers crossed that the club has found another Tiote type deal, a cheap, new, unknown foreign player that hopefully will be a success."

I have to say this has been in the back of my mind for quite some time. I've always been anxious about signing foreign, and i see that others agree with me. We cannot justify buying players from abroad just because one has been a major success. We have player after player bought from foreign leagues and 9/10 of them recently have been complete ****, or taken far to long to adjust to the league.

What we need is strikers that will be prolofic in goal scoring, ones that will get the fans out of their seats, and also one that has proven he can be a success in this league.

The evening was brilliant and i can't believe it was only a tenner. I got myself a signed Asprilla picture scoring a cracker vs Barca

It was a great laugh and good exchange of opinions. It's nice to see that not all journalists are all stuck up ****s, Gibson was completely informal and a cracking bloke.

Didn't realise how long it was. It started at 7.30 and ended at 11pm. It's amazing how time flies when you're in great company.

Yeah mate but he's not just any old journo mate, he's a geordie and just like the rest of us a true toon fan, and he wouldn't just make up ****e. I udnerstand that during my suspension that Hoadie Boi would take me over in the table, but suddenly Toon in Manchester emerges like a fart in the wind as is on level 100?

Have to say that bit about buying British is bollocks. If I'm given the option of Carlton Cole for an inflated fee or 2 or 3 'unknown' foreign players for the same price I know what I'm taking, and Bez should've pointed that out too unless he's forgotten that Albert, Ginola, Asprilla and Pavel weren't actually from Benwell. I think we can justify £3m on an 'unproven' foreign player (lest we forget Tiote played in the World Cup) over £10m on an overpriced useless Englishman.

Either way Ashley can't win, sign from overseas and he's hoping for another Tiote, sign some English lads from the Championship and he's signing bargain basement talent. Proven Premier League players of top quality are way out of our price range (and haven't exactly been successful in the past, Shearer, Ferdinand and very few others excepted), clever scouted signings must be the way forward.

You don't have to read it all but it was a great night and if only you knew how great it was for so many toon fans to be talking informally about the club and taking the piss out of Shola and calling Ashley a fat cockney ******, you'd realise what you've missed. What a night. It should have been a bigger occassion, and all for charity

Like everyone else has said. Whilst you were banned we all decided it would be fun to give Toon in Manchester all our points. He has posted once and never returned.
