I'm one of the few non-United fans who has actually enjoyed their success. The team Fergie created in the 90s was incredible, and he did it all with the academy. The 99/00 Champions League final is probably the best game I've ever watched.
Do you mean 98/99 final against Bayern? Didn't think they got to the 99/00 final, but I could stand corrected. I always want them to succeed in Europe and that night was amazing.
Net transfer spend of something like £100m over the course of his tenure? Not sure about that. Decent manager, but he does spend a large amount of money.
Martin O'Neill literally crippled Villa by signing players on outrageous wages. A lot of Villa fans loved him at the time, but absoilutely hate him now. Joe, we must be the same age and I remember that final too! It was insane. The best game I have ever watched was the liverpool comeback against AC Milan though. Or possibly even the "Ageurrooooooooooo" moment last season. Won't forget that in a hurry.
I'm at the stage where there are some amazing footballers who are younger than me, and it's really depressing. Players like Chamberlain, JWP and Shaw, all younger than me by some margin and they're all Premier League footballers. Me? I submitted a report tonight and got a 0% similarity rating that said it wasn't plaigarised at all. That's the highlight of my year so far...
You need to start getting depressed once the managers are younger than you. Then come back and talk to me
I think the first of my football heroes younger than me was Steve Williams. You think you've got reasons to get depressed!
