Things don't look amazing right now, 3 first teamers seem destined to leave and deals for new players aren't coming through. But to try and a but a positive spin on things this may be for the best. 1. Nasri In 3 seasons he's only been decent for 6 months. Last year he started on fire with goals but in terms of assists he only had 1 all season long!! There's no doubt he's talented but is there enough end product from him...right now no. I don't want to strenthen our competition but with 1 year on his contract and a bidding war possible to come 20M is good business 2. Clichy Has been poor for the last few seasons and you're crazy if you think otherwise. Can't cross and can't the 2 things an attacking full back needs. Big lapses in concentration have cost us so at 7-10M with 1 year on his contract it's good business and there are plenty of players who can do so much more for us. 3. Fabregas Great player but he's destined to go to Barca and who could play him. He's not a great a captain and apart from 2009-10 his stats aren't amazing, plus seems fairly injury prone (has missed at least a 3rd of each of the past 3 seasons). We also (like with Henry) seem to have become overly reliant on him. A new captain with more leadership, better balance to our play and a playmaker with less injury problems and it might not be that bad 4. Ramsey, Van Persie, Wilshere, Vermalen If all 4 can stay fit and continue to develop we've got an excellent nucleus for the team 5. Szczency Was excellent last year and maybe with a full pre season and the confidence that brings we'll finally have a decent enough keeper 6. New Players *Gervinho seems a done deal which is a marked improvement on Bendtner *Samba or Cahill although not perfect would be a big improvement *Mata and/or Arturo Vidal are unlikely but if we were somhow able to pull one of them off it be a huge boost to the team to include that quality and fill the gaps left by departing players
Best case scenario: We sign Ronaldo, Messi, Neuer, Iniesta, Aguero, Vidic, Pique, Alonso and God in exchange for a time share in Denilson. We score 1000 goals in the season and win everything.
