Apparently Berbatov has passed his medical and signed. We should get official confirmation soon. http://thepeoplesperson.com/2012/08/30/dimitar-berbatov-joins-fulham-after-passing-medical/? YEAH
Wow. Just, wow. He could've gone to Fiorentina or Juventus, but he came to us*. Well done to Big Mart and the guys upstairs, this is a great signing. *Yes, I realise he wanted to stay in England above all.
Stockdale; I'd like to know where you get you facts of players wages from? Is the Berbatov deal even completed yet? I personally think Berbatov is a good player when on song but should things not go his way I expect no tracking back and plenty of sulking. This is likely to happen more at CC than OT...... I personally feel your capture of Petric to be better, hence his inclusion in my fantasy team. Oh and that Cesar that you talk of trumps Berbatov with, 5 series A titles, 3 Coppa Italias, 4 Supercoppa Italiana, Champions League title, FIFA World club cup, Copa America and FIFA Confederations cup. I know his history means nothing now he is with us but surely the same applies with Berbatov?
I'll steer clear of all the bickering, it's a gamble this one though, could be very good or awful, best of the window, I am not sure about that, Carroll could do the trick for Hammers, Granero for us, who knows.
HoopyD I read he was being given the same contract that Juve and Fiorentina offered him which had 36,000 on wages. I think that's sterling but not sure. His agent told Bulgarian media the deal is done and he's signed. http://hammyend.com/index.php/2012/08/agent-confirms-berbatov-is-officially-a-fulham-player/ It could be that they're waiting to announce his signing at the same time as Kieran Richardson. He probably (definitely) will sulk but I imagine Mart will do an ok job of keeping him in line. I think Berbatov is a better player than Petric, but I think Petric may have the better season (just a feeling, usually utterly wrong) but he's definitely worth putting in your fantasy team. Cesar has had a glittering career and I admit he's perhaps better than Paddy Kenny... and Schwarzer It just annoyed me that "ellers" was trying to compare the transfers of Bobby and Berba by age and by fee, surely you can agree that we got the better deal?
He will learn. Not by fee. I never mentioned that. And please don't tell me Berba is on less than Bobby because you are talking rubbish. Even MJ said they 'pushed the boat out'. Actually think DB is a good signing but it is funny after mocking us for getting older players you then do the same?
Oh please. Serie A is the fourth best league in Europe. If Inter Milan wanted to keep Cesar he would have stayed, you were his last resort.
Love this. Only comment relates to Berbatov stat- 4 of the 5 players were at a top 5 club- my assumption is that the chances created by these teams makes goalscoring opportunities easier to come by- Cisse's is the most impressive stat
Given recent periods here when we have been short of strikers, I would have been concerned if we had not brought someone else in this week. Berbatov is a good move, together with Petric, Rodallega. He fits the bill now; and if he stays more than a season, then a bonus. Although it will be an interesting challenge to MJ to get the midfield-forward flow right quickly (then again, a problem for most managers buying late-August). C O Y W
The Guardian reckon he's earning £110k a week. The Mail say its £50k. Would FFC change the wage structure for him? I think the Guardian have got it wrong.
Stockdale; I think that the BZ signing has to be taken in context with where we found ourselves last season and paid what we did with the pure desire of staying up. I'm pretty sure he was the best we could get at the time. Man for man I think that DB has proven he can be the better player, but I just worry that you won't get 100% out of DB most of the time, from what I have seen of BZ with us so far he has worn his heart on his sleeve. Maybe MJ will get the best out of him because he definitely doesn't suffer fools easily. Bandit; I agree that Serie A may not be once what it was. You fail to give evidence of what leagues you say it sits behind but I'll assume you mean La Liga, EPL and Budesliga???? and hopefully not something like the Super Ligue??? I'll disagree with the Bundesliga and say it is on par with the EPL but submit with La Liga. How about backing up your opinion with evidence or at least a reason for thinking it....,. I'm sure there are a few clubs in the EPL who would like to be Cesar's last resort.
Yeah, I went to bed expecting to hear this morning that it was a done deal. It's a bit worrying that there's no confirmation yet. We'll just have to wait and see.
I wish you lot would listen to me! This is all from a quote from Fergie. We're not out of the woods yet, but it just sounds like a bit of flippancy from Fergie.
What are Spurs up to or is Sir Alex just stirring things up a bit. I need to see something on the FFC website soon.
