As much as I would agree, I am sure there are fans from others teams thinking the same thing. How likely are we to compete with the likes of Liverpool who need somebody besides only only having Suarez or a team like Everton? Those clubs can offer bigger wages.
I'd have him at Liverpool easily. Would do fantastically at a team like Swansea, you need a proper Striker to bring in goals other than Michu.
But Liverpool also have Sturridge. We would however be able to offer a possible starting berth each week whereas at the likes of Liverpool he could end up on the bench (unless another team comes in for Suarez). Also with Everton, with uncertainty surrounding Moyes at the moment (whether he will stay or go) that might put him off a club like them at the moment.
i think the Swans have to wake up and a. expand the stadium (which i believe is to happen) b. get out of the mindset that we are no longer a Div 4 club and c. yes we do have money in the bank so start using it. i am not in any way saying waste it but we need a striker big time, dont pay stupid wages but get someone in now. Ki and Hernandes cost 12 mill between them, would rather sack them both and get this dude in. my opinion only
Agreed Musty. We aren't that far away from being a really good team. What we need in the summer window is some really good quality rather than a number of players. Would rather see 3 really good players come in rather than 5-6 okish players. Plus we get 60million from the new tv rights this year and did well selling Allen, Sinclair and Liverpool buying Rodgers and his backroom staff, so there should be plenty of money in the coffers for ML to bring in some real quality.
Yeah, its been rumoured that Liverpool want around 15-20 million for him but I cant see anybody being tempted at that sort of price, so its puts a club like ours in a good position if someone wants regular 1st team football as that is something we could offer Benteke, unless he follows the money trail of course.
