hello im a deby fan and must admit im not that impressed by bent coming to us having read the villa site they seem glad to be rid of him however i would like him to prove me wrong i doubt he will i think he is past it and wont add anything to our squad or system i dont see where he will fit in we dont play with 2 strikers also ive heard we are paying £20,000 a week for him a high wage

He's on £80,000 a week at Villa. Brighton were apparently paying half of it, so I'd imagine it will be a damn site more........

I know that by saying this I could be jinxing it, but I think it's safe to say that his best days are behind him. I'm grateful for when he played for us, scored a lot and put in the effort. He also scored consistently at Charlton, Sunderland, and even Tottenham. Should have been handed more opportunities for England. I'm not sure if it's the Ipswich bias, but I always rated him ahead of the likes of Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch.

I feel sorry for him in regards to what is going on at Villa, appears he fell out with Lambert. While he is a natural finisher, he's undoubtedly short of match fitness and should not be a problem for our defence. It's Derby's midfield players that we need to keep our eyes on.
