He always makes me smile. Certainly an individual isn't he.

Surprised he doesn't have a boot sponsor.

    Me, too.
    Very surprised.

Surely someone out there would want him on their books?
Controversial, straight-talking, extremely individualistic and with his own sense of style.
    He's incredibly marketable.

Perhaps he was trying to push that point?

    He's certainly a character :)

  5. He is also probably the best LB in the PL - which together with his consistency and level-headedness makes me glad he is a Spur!!

And to think of all those - you know who you are - who would have happily offloaded him for one misplaced crossfield pass in an EL game 3 seasons ago!

Reminds me that sports stars tend to be inadequately socialized guys in their twenties. Just the sort of choices I would have made at his age. I also love the hair (which is also a lot like what I wore at his age). There's got to be some kind of advantage he can get from blocking the other side's view of things.

What's interesting is that he's got to be one of the most underrated players around (other than by Spurs fans). I can't think of a time when I heard fans of other teams talk about him as one of the top LBs--though I'm across the water, so there's a lot I don't hear.

    You're right about BAE, RW&EB.
Most fans of other clubs seem to believe that he's a liability and the weak link in our side.
Hansen's focus on him for one game seems to have stuck in a lot of people's minds, for some reason.

The same can be said for Gomes.

Funny that whenever an English player is dubbed a liability (i.e. David James, Frank Sinclair, Titus Bramble), the label doesn't stick - but it does with any overseas player.

I think you've undermined your own point there, Croydon.
