Not saying he was the only one yesterday, and playing behind dempsey won't help anyone. I also love him as a guy off the pitch. Brutally honest, at home in the community and uses what he has as a footballer to do some good. Seems incredibly intelligent as well. The column he writes in the standard occasionally is a great read. But, on the pitch this season... His performances have suffered. If he played like last year or the year before that, you've got the full package. Just think he's been lacking this year. I want him to show that form and stay, but if he doesn't, Levy won't think twice about selling a 10m 29yr old.
He was out for half a season injured and hasn't had a decent run in the side since coming back in January. In the OP article he explains how difficult it has been trying to assimilate into a new coaching/management regime when returning after that long lay off and with new players around him. I can think of more than a few players who would have started throwing the toys out of the pram under similar circs. But he hasn't made a whimper, just got on with the job and continues to say and do the right things.
