    Really/

BUNDESLIGA champions Borussia Dortmund are ready to resurrect their interest in Nicklas Bendtner, with Sunderland having no intention of signing their top scorer permanently.

There was no farewell performance for on-loan Bendtner against Manchester United last weekend after the Dane was omitted from the squad following his late arrival for the team bus on the morning of the game.

But the incident hardly influenced Martin O’Neill’s long-term view, with the Black Cats boss resolving well before Sunday that Sunderland would not attempt to convert the 24-year-old’s loan deal into a permanent switch.

Despite topping Sunderland’s scoring charts with eight Premier League goals, Bendtner blew hot and cold during his stint on Wearside and is now back under the guardianship of parent club Arsenal.

Bendtner has resolved to wait until after next month’s European Championships to decide his future, with the hitman highly unlikely to remain with the Gunners, who are understand to want a measly £2.5million for him.

But there is interest in Germany for the striker, with Dortmund understood to be one of those monitoring his situation.

Bendtner’s wages of £60,000 a week – plus a host of bonuses which can take that figure up to £90,000 – prove a major barrier to the bulk of the sides in the Bundesliga.

But Dortmund, who secured a second successive German title this season, are one of those who could afford to land Bendtner after pursuing the Copenhagen-born man last summer despite vehement public denials to the contrary.

Bendtner, who was yesterday confirmed in Denmark’s 23-man squad, will hope his performances in Poland and Ukraine are sufficiently bright to attract the attention of potential future employers and he is in a rich vein of form for his country after five goals in his last five internationals.

But Bendtner will not be on Sunderland’s shortlist of summer signings, with O’Neill allowing all of the club’s three loan players to return to their parent clubs.

Defensive duo Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos will not be permanent fixtures at the Stadium of Light either after making 14 appearances between them since arriving as stop-gap measures in the January transfer window.

Left-back Bridge is understood to have been keen on a permanent switch to Sunderland, but will return to Manchester City, where he has a year to run on his £90,000 a week contract.

And Kyrgiakos has similarly gone back to parent club Wolfsburg, who signed him on a two-year deal from Liverpool last August.

My biggest disappointment with the loan signings is Bridge, I had high hopes for him and though he did nothing wrong neither did he set the world alight.

I think the lack of first team football over the last 3-4 years has took its toll, certainly not the player who pushed Cole for the England L/B several years ago. Most definatley the right decision not to try and sign him.

Always was just a stop gap to make numbers up in a squad depleted by injuries.. same with the Big Greek

This big Greek is one of the worst players I have seen in a Sunderland shirt.

Furthermore Bendnter not coming on a perm is no big loss. Rather have 3 mint strikers.

The best thing about that, was I found out where the petrol station was, cos you told me. Other than that a waste of time.
