Bendtner was a very frustrating player for us, he spoke of his 'great' talent but rarely lived up to his own billng But he was/is without question better than either Chamakh or Park. Chamakh was typically preferred to Bendtner last season in the Centre Forward role so now he's getting a run at Sunderland you see that he's half decent. We need a world class back up to RVP and that may be Podolski but Bendtner has more to offer as 3rd or 4th choice than the poor quality we have right now!!
Chamakh if i had to pick. But neither are ANYWHERE near the required standard. I really hope the Podolski rumours are true.
Bendtner out of the three. He has the work-rate, and has a striker's instinct even if he isn't consistent. For me we had more reasons to drop Walcott based on performances from the period, but Wenger never had any stakes in Bendtner as he never hyped him up as much as Walcott. I don't usually criticize Wenger but he seems to be influenced on which players to play by how much he has hyped them up throughout the years, even if it may cost us in results. I really can't think of any other reason why Walcott and Ramsey would start games consistently despite long patches of poor performances, while others like Bendtner and Arshavin are dropped without hesitation. Not saying it's pride or anything, but he still insists the squad will eventually be built around players who, while showing promise in their first appearances, have turned out to be quite average throughout the years.
