    Morning Lads,

Friday dragging a bit and came accross this vid(apologies if anyone seen before) of Ben Arfa last season and just reminded me or what a bloody good bargain that was for £5 million!

    Such a incredible talent!

    Enjoy...

Seen it, but its a great vid, what a talent we have on our hands here, I think provided he continues to recover so well from his injury and we hold onto him (which I think we will) he will have the season of his life next season.

Needs to bring consistency to the table before I get too excited. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed watching his goals against Bolton and Blackburn as much as anyone, but with his talent, he should be running the show on a more regular basis.

I made a threat about this the other day.

I think he's one of the best dribblers in the world in form and he's got his own style. There's no one like him.

He's a genious with some of his moments.

Even though I'd bet my house Ben Arfa could pull off most of the skill moves skillsters use from time to time, and even though he does do some skill moves, what I love about him is he'll get past a player with a simple flick or a sharp movement timed to perfection.

He makes it look so simple, like anyone could do it, but few can.

That's why I think Pards compares Ben Arfa to Messi. Both players don't need skill moves, they just have fantastic ball control, agility, reactions and they're both footballing geniouses.

Ben Arfa can do skill moves, but he rarely needs them.

If he's used in a 4-4-2 he doesn't have the opportunity to what he does best as he has too much defensive responsibility. I'm not saying he should never track back, but we need to give him some freedom, and he got that freedom in a 4-3-3, where he was consistently good for around 8-9 until we switched back to 4-4-2 against Chelsea, where he was awesome but didn't have the same sort of impact.

If we play 4-3-3 long term he'd be a lot more useful and we could see the best from him.

We might as well not use him in a 4-4-2 unless he's going to play off a striker. As a RM in a 4-4-2 he's not the most useful player. He's got poor defensive qualities, and he can't get forward enough. He can put pressure on players well with his acceleration and work rate, but he can't tackle for crap or make an interception. He doesn't have the ability to read the game like some like Raylor or Jonas.

Ben Arfa's always had the talent, and even though Pard's and Carver are right to tell him to track back, they also need to allow him freedom to do his thing, and it's the same with Cabaye.

When Cabaye had the freedom in our 4-3-3 system, he was immense and consistent.

In a 4-4-2 he still had a good effect, but was too caught up in defending or got lost at times.

Cabaye and Ben Arfa have both matured since they've been here, and have proven they can be relied on to do some defensive work, but they both need freedom.

In that 4-3-3 formation we saw the best out of two potential world beaters. In a 4-4-2 you still see quality from them, but they are only about 30-40% as influencial.

    Ba/New LW-----Cisse/Ba------Ben Arfa

    ---------------Cabaye---------------

    ----Jonas/New DM----Tiote-----------

    New LB----Colo------Saylor/Douglas---Santon

    ----------------Krul----------------

In this formation, the wingers still have defensive responsibilities, but they have less pressure on them to do their defensive work as our defensive midfielders are back to cover them if necessary.

Plus Cabaye can track back if needed, but in that position he has freedom to go forward and wave his magic wand whilst not having to **** himself over defensive duties as there'll always be two DM's behind him to support.

This formation with the right players and manager is immense.
