www.ibtimes.co.uk/arsenal-hector-bellerin-barcelona-academy-gunners-432714.html A good article on Hector Bellerin - his abilities and limitations. He sounds a good lad & is very much enjoying his time at the club. If Sagna does leave in summer, it seems likely that Bellerin & Jenkinson will be the 2 options next season. Along with Bellerin, Toral came over from Barca. Does anyone have any info on how he's doing? And the other "Next Superstar" kids like Gnabry, Akpom & Eisfeld? There seems to be a few coming through, while Aneke & Afobe haven't been heard from for a while. Will anyone make the step up to the first team over the next season or two?
not confident of bellerin and jenkinson as our 2 RBs. Jenkinson is still not ready to be first choice, so I think we'd need to buy someone if sagna leaves.
Nice interview. They seem like sensible, well-adjusted lads. They're definitely enthusiastic. Gotta admit, I've never seen either of them play. What's the chances that they'll make it?
I work in Crawley and a few workmates go regularly. When one of our kids (I think it was Aneke but have a hangove and cant quite remember) they said he looked really good at that level but they didnt think hed make it at the very top. I think Jenkinson has shown enough to be given a chance if Sagna goes. Most players improve if theyre playing competitively regularly, just look what happpened to Santo when he stopped playing regularly!!!! Jenko has already been called up for England and that wouldnt happen if he wasnt all that.
http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/bellerin-signs-new-long-term-contract Bellerin has signed a new long term contract, which is good news because I firmly believe that he is a star in the making. Only problem is that, Barca are bound to come in for him when he hits his peak. At least the board can make a tidy profit on him, though.
Bellerin looks a real prospect. I know we've said that loads of times, but this new contract would indicate that he's highly thought of & they want to keep him. The site says "long term" so can we assume that's 5 years? I'd imagine he is seen as Jenkinson's rival to be Sagna's successor.
