We should be building for the future, signing the teenagers and early 20-year-olds who can develop over time, really gel as a team and drive us to a good place in the Premier League rather than just hoping for survival with a bunch of 'old heads' who Warnock favours and can only get us out of the Championship. Long term > short term. Full measure > half measure. Newcastle/Swansea/Norwich/West Brom rather than QPR/Wolves, as it were. Fuck Craig Bellamy.
You are correct of course but, young uns are not going to get us out of the championship a good mixture is needed, and if by some amazing fluke we do make it then again for the first season or two back in the prem we will still need a good mixture of both in my opinion anyway.
A mixture absolutely, but a sensible amount of both. As it stands, our squad will probably have an average age of about 28/29. That's far too old. The one that got us promoted from League One was 23. First season in the Championship: 24. Says a lot about how it's been dismantled since then that it's rising so quickly. We need a golden generation again, and we need it fast. Is Warnock actually intending to sign ANY young players this window?!
I doubt it, he is trying to get us promoted which means experienced heads on the pitch, as I said I agree with you but I also think we have a few up and coming players with poleon and gimpel to name 2, and there are a few more there with thompson looking half decent as well so the future could be good if we can just get out of this division and then we can hold on to our young prospects !!
