Hull City AFC can finish this season as Champions!!!
I know most of us are cautious Yorkshire folk and we would much rather moan than be optomistic, but the fact is that we are as good as any other team in this league and better than most.
The crucial element for us is self-belief and if we start to believe that confidence will soon spread to the team.
Forget big-spending West Ham and Southampton and remember we out-played and beat fancied Birmingham.
There will be a few disappointments still to come, but it's about time we dropped the inferiority complex that has dogged our supporters for decades and aim for the top.

Well it's possible and you are right we are as good as anyone else in this league, we just need to get one of our strikers hitting a purple patch and consistantly scoring and it's possibility. We aint that far off hope we stay clear of any injuries too

We shouldn't fear anyone in this league. Most are trying to get back up to the Promised Land and the riches that go with it ! Think our experience last time will make us realise where we went wrong, buying virtually a new team in the close season. Deano never got a look in after the Wembley game,
Much to the shame of Brownie ! Think Nicks experience will come into its own then !

Have faith, we'll be ok. If not this season then next, we'll be back up there.

I Do Believe... as some one wise once said think it was Kylie, anyway definitely as good as anyone and better than most. Just need to take a few more of the chances. But please please do not call the premiership "The promised land". My memory was not of a land of milk and honey but of greed paranoia and desperation, overpriced everything and a lot of fans that believe their teams are a lot better than they actually are,........ Rather enjoyed it actually

Myhill, Rickets, Turner, Dawson, Ashbee, ***an, Barmby, Folan, Marney and Duke were in the squad most weeks, as well as others who I've probably forgotten.

Just because we didn't pick Deano doesn't mean we had a whole new side.

Brilliant post. We've outplayed all the top teams and only finishing has seperated us from the top of the league. The key is the attackers, if Fryatt can raise his chance conversion rate I'm sure we'll make it. There isn't a better team than us for creating chances and defending, just finishing is the one missing ingredient.

Fingers crossed this is the West Brom away match of 2008. Win tomorrow and you never know - lose and forget top two .

<ok> This. Though a point tomorrow would still keep us realistically in contention of the top two. Any kind of positive result though would be the catalyst for a charge to the top 2 in the next 2 months.

There are plenty of games to go and it is refreshing that we win by our biggest margin in the second half of the season. No better time to come good!

Tomorrow is one of the biggest games of the season, if we can get three points then I think it could really be the catalyst to a really good run.

I have a basic principle set up for targets for automatic promotion seasons:

Against sides in the top 8 you've drawn at home and lost away. (7 points)
Against sides in the middle 8 you've won at home and drawn away. (32 points)
Against sides in the bottom 8 you've won home and away. (48 points)

That gives you a total of 87 points. (It's 7 points for the top 8 because if you're in the top 8 there's only 7 opponents)

We're 9 points behind at the moment (and over a season we're on for 73 points), but tomorrow night is a throw away game. Anything we get improves the situation, but given how far behind the target we are we could really do with the 3 points if we want automatic promotion.

Best case scenario, 3 points tomorrow night could see us rise to 3rd, 3 points behind Southampton with a game in hand.

Unfortunately there's a very good chance both Cardiff and Blackpool will record wins. I reckon we'll end up 7th after the game coming home with a point, but statistically in a better position than we are now - 5 points behind 2nd placed Southampton with a game in hand.

I feel we will be challenging for an automatic place at the end of the season. Our performances are good, we are looking sharper, Fryatt finally scored. Things are looking up, it just takes a good run and the other to waiver and we will be excellent contender.
