Depends where the area is. They are used to mark turf / tell a story about the area.

Some of them are very good, some of them are awful.

The department of European funding paid money to communities that removed images of guns but recently these have started going back up in some areas.

Your obsession for mentioning negative things to do with nationalist/republican areas has determined it fairly obvious what areas you are referring to here by your refusal to label them. Silly transparent medro

Edit: also, what the **** is the Department for European Funding <laugh> ****in spaz.

Mibbees. Although history is always evolving so that should be reflected in the art. They generally capture the zeitgeist pretty well.

The ones Med Dog referenced had reflected the more positive images from unionist areas, likeGeorge Best for example. That got painted over with more militant looking ones to reflect the fact that they have reverted to full ****** over their Flegs......that and since they were forced to silence their bigot drums after complaints made to the Ministry of Sound and the Ministry of Silly Walks stopped the bigot marches.

    The department of European funding<laugh>
