I'm planning on booking a weekend in Southampton for my girlfriend and I, looking at the weekend of February the 11th v Burnley. The flights for the two of us at the minute are £258 which is ridiculous. I looked on Sunday and they were £200 or so but they've jumped up by nearly £60 in a matter of days.

I was over for the Middlesborough match there and they cost about £100pp when I booked them two months in advance. I just thought I would ask on here if anyone can help me come up with a cheaper alternative of getting from Belfast to Southampton on a Friday and back again on the Sunday. Flights to London Standsted are £100 return for the pair of us but when I checked trains they were £70 in each direction from London-Southampton.

Don't get me wrong now, she's worth the extra but wouldn't I rather have more money to spend on her when we get there? :cheesy:

    Help a fella out.

Have you checked flights to and from Hurn airport? do cheap ryanair deals there, flown to both ireland and scotland from there, for really good prices before.

Also add on £46 in charges for the outward flight, £101.42 charges for the return flight. Grim.

I've been looking at flights from Dublin, same problem. You have to book months in advance to get flights at a decent price otherwise you are paying through the nose
