Brooklyn picks up the Beckham baton after joining QPR's academy side By CHARLES SALE PUBLISHED: 23:45 GMT, 20 May 2013 | UPDATED: 23:54 GMT, 20 May 2013 David Beckham’s retirement doesn’t mean the end of his family’s playing involvement with a professional football club. His eldest son Brooklyn has just started with relegated Queens Park Rangers’ Under 14 academy side, who train near the Beckhams’ new family home in west London. Brooklyn, who was 14 in March, started playing at Spurs as a four-year-old and has had trials with Chelsea juniors. He was also on the Under 14 roster at LA Galaxy and would join his dad in training at Paris Saint-Germain. please log in to view this image Family ties: David Beckham posing with his sons after PSG won the French league http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2328115/CHARLES-SALE-Brooklyn-picks-Beckham-baton-joining-QPRs-academy-side.html
I don't mind Brooklyn. As long as his Father and Mother don't come anywhere near us, I'm happy enough.
So.... all the kids will want a replica qpr shirt with BECKHAM on the back, and if the club is savvy, they will give the kid the number 7 shirt. Plenty of revenue for us, and it certainly wouldn't hurt to have daddy saying nice things about the club his son plays for. If they come watch a few games next season, it'll attract attention (and fans), and if they see us winning games, maybe it'll become a habit or these new fans to come see us. Stranger things have happened, and people become fans for the weirdest reasons sometimes.
People please, let's not get above ourselves. Be under no illusions that Brooklyn will actually want to stay at QPR. Like Stirling, Brooklyn will learn his trade with our youth team, and will then be sold to a more ambitious club, and QPR will just take the money and let the boy go. Still, we should get as much publicity/revenue while he remains with us. Good Luck Son of David COYRsssssssss
