    You don't think it has anything to do with the fact that no premier league clubs were after him and Everton probably pushed him out the door because they needed the money desperately?

    Billionaires pooring money into it. It's just a toy to them, they can manage the difference between the turnover of the club and the amount of money they'd have to front to do this without it making a dent on their bank account.

    Trouble with you YNBK, you just sit on the fence & don't say what you're thinking... & then again!! I feel a Keegan moment coming on... "I'd luv it if we were to go to Leicester & get someting...", espcially as a mate of mine is a Leicester fan & he took two pints off me last season.

    I tell you what Marko, three things will make my season:

    Promotion obviously;
    Leeds stopping Leicester from going up; and
    Beckford scoring the winning goal to knock Everton out of the FA Cup.

    Very short sighted of Everton to sell him so quickly. They had to for the same reason we've had our own fire sale a couploe of years ago. Over time, he would have really added something to their attack.

    What you're all forgetting is Beckford's age. He comes from non-league football and was eventually picked up for League 1 football. Clearly he's a natural striker with bags of pace but he hasn't had the years of top quality coaching and he's also lazy. So, he couldn't turn down a chance for premiership football but unless he was willing to really graft he was never going to be good enough. We can all remember the endless misses for us as well as the strikes. Unless you're a target man striker you don't get a long career up front and as Beckford realised his career was going nowhere at Everton, the prospect of a shedload of cash for Leicester was obviously too attractive. If your career is over by the time you are 34 you have to have earnt enough money to live on by then. Plus, Championship is more Beckford's real level, so if he scores lots of goals there's always the chance that another PL team will come back in for him next year. To answer the question, he was a lower-league legend for us and should be applauded.

    Surely you can't earn legend status in four years?
