We all know about what happened at the weekend. And now John Percy who is very reliable is running with it http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/new...l-Pearson-in-dressing-room-article886327.html It will be a shame to see him go as he is a very good player but he has alot of bad points aswell. I said from the start he isnt a Nigel Pearson type of player. We shouldnt sell him to a championship side though
I liked Beckford but if he is replaced adequately then so be it. Pearson is the manager. ps - how do you spell adequately???
Who do you propose selling him to then, consiering wages rule out L1 and below, and if there'd been PL interest in him when he left Everton he would still be in the PL now. (although that whole situation with him there was a bit bizarre)
I don't think this really tells us anything we didn't already know. Accounting for the usual tabloid hyperbole, the way I see it is that they've had an argument and Nigel is unhappy about it and with Jermaine. However, the ball is in his court now. He can either apologise, accept he was wrong and get on with his football (SSL) or he can sulk and be sold (where to is another matter mind). I hope he stays because him and Nugent were finally starting to form a good partnership.
Best news all week, beckford makes yakubu look hyperactive, he never looked like he wanted to be here..hope there is some mugs out there desperate enough to buy him..
None of this surprises me - Beckford is a good finisher but his all round ability as a footballer is short of true Premiership class - his first touch, particularly under pressure (anywhere other than directly in front of goal) is average to say the least (and if I'm completely honest is pretty woeful in fact). The problem is that Jermaine's ego is Premeirship level. Yakubu is a better finisher, particularly given the timber he carries - and seems to be a much nicer character. Schlupp should be given a run now and 'mardy arse' should have a spell on the bench or in the reserves to show him that he is by no means a fixture. In the summer we should try and recoup our money.
At the time when we were trying to get Yakubu back and it was sort of between Beckford and The Yak I wanted Yakubu. But when we got Beckford I really thought he'd do the business. But being honest. He's not even that quick, he cant control the ball, he can't beat a man, he can't head it and he can't be arsed. At least Yakubu looked like he liked playing and he was all round a much better player which is why he's in the PL and Becks isn't.
If this has all come about because he wouldn't go in the box for a free kick, does it matter? he was never going to head it anyway.
Unless you sell him at a massive lost i can't see any Premiership sides buying him, selling him to another Championship club could come back to haunt you so i would suggest loaning him to another Championship club with an agreed price to buy him after 6 months with the added clause that he can't play against you during the loan period. After 6 months if he has been good for the side he is loaned too you get your money, if not he returns and you loan him to someone else.
