I had a go at predicting the results of the play-off contenders last night.

Included everyone beneath West Ham down to Brighton.

I had City losing out on a play-off place on goal difference!!! <wah>

    Hope I'm wrong!

there are a few twists and turns left yet. For example,

    * Reading still have to visit Southampton, West Ham & Birmingham.
    * All of West Ham's home games are against teams chasing the playoffs or automatic promotion.
    * the average league position of the team we have left to play is lower than all the other teams in the top 10

I have been tuning my table predictor algorithm which factors in relative league positions, form of both teams, etc. currently its giving:

    Southampton - 90
    Reading - 82
    West Ham - 79
    City - 78
    Birmingham - 77
    Blackpool - 75
    Cardiff - 73
    Middlesbrough - 73

You think we'll make 8 points up on West Ham in 10 games?????

    I doubt that very much!

I reckon we will get 74 points and it will be REALLY close!

Does 5 points in 9 games sound more reasonable?
Then throw in a last day victory for us and there's your 8 in 10.

West Ham are out of form and have a pretty tough run in:

Home: Reading, Birmingham City, Middlesbrough, Hull City. Brighton & Hove Albion
Away: Barnsley, Bristol City, Burnley, Leicester City, Peterborough United

I can see them dropping a fair few points there.

Just done the BBC predictor for this weekend. Positive outlook as always. Hull City to win of course. But prior to next weekends easter fixtures and all teams on 40 games played....From Brighton 4th on 63 points to TWS 10th on 60 points,, there is a 3 point spread.

As for a Must Win game next Mondays game with Middlesboro is one such game,, imo.

Well being Mr Positive on here and after easter mondays quality performance against Middlesboro when the Tigers got back to winning ways. Long overdue but getting Koren and Chester back was a massive help. King also had his best game for us and scored a great goal. With other teams continuing to drop points still I have gone for a blazing end to the season. Watford Barnsley and Forest should be on the beach by the time we play them and i expect West Ham to rest players on the final day of the season as they will be stuck in 3rd,, imo. I have done the BBC predictor to the end of season and get a top 6 as follows : -

With Southampton and Reading taking the top 2 spots, 3rd-West Ham, 4th Birmingham, 5th-Hull City, 6th-Blackpool. Beleave. UTT

    3 for relegation :- Coventry-Portsmouth-Doncaster. TWS finish 14th.
