A few days ago I would have given Sebs chances of ever playing for us again as zero. But now, with AN meeting him tomorrow to discuss his future, if Seb wants to stay and fight for a place I can see him back in the team very soon. Will the same apply to Elliot and our loan Wolf, (not a spelling mistake, just a play on words) when his loan is over?

For Ricky it'll depend which league we're in. Elliott may get a reprieve if Neil wants more width, but I suspect Josh Murphy may be preferred.

With the defensive injuries picked up yesterday, getting Bassong back could be well-timed. I doubt he's match fit though.

Don't know the full story about bassong - if he was firing on all cylinders and motivated then would be the best central defender at the club

After the miserable season he had I think a move away was good for him, he needed a fresh environment, I don't blame him for that and if he want to come back that's fine, doubt he will though.

With Bassong he would have to come back to work hard but a new manager offers a clean slate for all players so it's a question of what he wants to do. With our defensive problems he could be exactly what we need. Again though I'm not expecting him to want to stay.

I think you'll find that Mr Hughton will come a calling for his 'love child' before the transfer window closes <ok>

Good point and I wonder if you're right. Hope there's a clause that he can't play against us!!! <ok>

He didn't win POTS by throwing his toys out the pram or playing for Watford!
If he buys into the ethos that Neil wishes to implement, then I'd welcome him back - anything to stop leaking these goals from defensive mistakes, which we've been doing all season.
Plus, it takes two to tango, so unless the full facts are known, it was partly Seb and partly Adams who caused the stand-off. Unite the team, Alex, then get the fans fully on board and you're half way there <ok>

Hi bors, just been reading Richard Wilson's (BBC Scotland) character report on our new manager. Liked the bit where he fined himself for onfield indiscipline by taking the players out for a 3-course lunch. Not for the lunch but to emphasise to the players that he himself was not above being penalised for indiscipline.

Wondering if his man management skills will bring Bassong back to the squad.

Saw this on another board from Craig Brown, a reliable poster:

"Spoke to Bassong in Tesco in Taverham 20 mins ago, said he wanted to stay"

The "20 mins ago" was about 7.30am this morning. If true, I guess it's up to Alex Neil now as to whether he comes back.

Interesting news if true (and I've no reason to doubt it). He's a good Premier League defender so at this level, if his head is right, would be a valuable asset.

And I can see it being true too - from his POV he threw his toys out of the pram with Adams and wanted a move. It rapidly became obvious that he wasn't going to get one because no-one was interested in him, but had essentially burnt his bridges as far as I can tell.

Now he's accepted Championship football, plus has the chance to patch things up with the club via a new manager giving him a clean slate, better to stay at your parent club if you can. Sensible.

I suspect his beef was more with the Board for sacking Hughton. Now that Neil has come in, perhaps there's space for a new start. Still down to Neil in the end though.

“My future at Norwich is a bit complicated. I had a really good time there for two years and can’t forget that. I don’t really speak to Neil Adams and did not, even before the loan.

“The only thing he said was he was not going to stop me from going on out on loan.

“So Watford was a good opportunity for me. He said nothing and just accepted it. I don’t know what Norwich have in mind, but I’m sure I’ll find out.”

That's what Bassong said recently towards the end of his loan with Watford, seem more about Adams that anything. Hopefully this is a clean slate.

His beef was definitely with Adams then. Hopefully opens the door.

Good to see. Thought this would be the outcome at least short term. Will have to see how the relationship between the two progresses. Hopefully they will repeat each other.

    *turns towards a neighbouring field*

    "EH! Javier!"

*Javier Garrido stumbles in the mud, before standing to look at Neil, mud all over his hands and arms*

"HAVE YE SOWN THEM TATTIES YET SON!?
