Agree with what's been said above. It was a smash and grab and we've got Bull to thank for some great saves, but it's a win and we needed it. Westwood and Johnson were excellent together at the back and Betsy was lively again. But we lost the midfield battle meaning we didn't create enough going forward and invited pressure onto the defence a lot. We were second to the ball all night, particularly Lewis who I thought had his worst game for us and Ainsworth who looked off the pace. We got away with it as better sides than Barnet would've taken some of the chances they created, I feel for them a little as they're desperate for points and it's really nice club. But although we were poor we did show a lot of effort and desire to keep the lead and that's the kind of spirit that will help us through the last 11 games.

It certainly was a pretty dire game and could have easily been a draw. I'm sure Barnet feel they were worth a point.
As Wandermagic said, both Lewis and Ainsworth looked off the pace and thankfully Bull was on fine form to save us again.
Rocky and I were talking on the way home last night about our chances if we were to get promotion. I can't see many of the squad being capable in League 1GW would cetainly have to bring in quite a few for us to survive.

I don't think thats necessarily the reason why he baught a load in on short term contracts i think with the exception of good youg players that clubs will want to tie down to long term deals the remainder of squads are nowadays always going to be on short term contracts which is proved by the huge number of players that are free agents at the end of the season, its just the way it is in lower league football.

It does however provide a good period of time to assess whether or not managers think that players can hack it if clubs go up a league, and i agree there will need to be alot of changes for us to compete in league 1. New wingers, attacking midfieder, a big target man, and defensive cover for the full backs in particular will be needed.

Fortunate to win but haven't won at Underhill since 1985 so a great result if not performance.
Bull with some crucial saves, and Westwood outstanding at the back and a goal to boot- my MOM.
Barnet may be in the relegation places but are a tough team to beat at home. They are used to the slope and thus less likely to underhit passes going uphill / overhit going down hill, and they had the benefit of going down hill second half. I think it's hard to overestimate the effect of the slope, as such I see it as a one off game where any win is a bonus and that's what we picked up, so we can be happy about it regardless of how we played.
Let's hope the strikers start scoring, beginning today against Stevenage!
