Glory isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, he’s the closest we’ve got to Marmite. If our own mods had asked him to leave/button it/take a break/ I’d have said he has himself to blame, I accept there is an ignore feature but IMHO things do occasionally get too personal.

It doesn’t mean my opinion counts or I am right or wrong but the common denominator in many of the spats on here is the fact that Glory is usually one of the culprits involved but I guess that’s him, like I said Marmite.

Elland on the other hand is unanimously liked, he is a massive part of keeping this board alive. We’re not privileged to know what goes on behind the scenes or on the mod board but I hope a resolve can be found that sees Elland comfortable in posting again.

Should Glory have had a “cooling” period? If our own mods felt it right yes, if they didn’t then no but I have to agree with TC once legal action has been threatened then it is up to the Forums top brass to remove anything offensive.

I’m a mod of a Cyprus property and living forum, they employ a legal expert, a retired solicitor. Members are often slandering, accusing or pointing fingers at builders, developers and stores and the minute legal action is mentioned the post has to be deleted without question of who is right or wrong.

Maybe posts should be deleted, but also if people are threatening to take legal action against our site then maybe they should be asked to leave. Not sure that is the case though.

Pretty sure this is what the ignore button is for.

Legal action against a site like this would lead nowhere.

I was going to add that the person(s) on the Cyprus forum was never banned, just the offending post deleted and a brief explanation sent to them so granted this is a bit different.

I’m not taking sides even though it might sound like I am but if you feel like you’re constantly on the receiving end of forum abuse it does get you down. I don’t know all the facts, just hearsay and unless what was said in regards to all of this is openly aired (and it won’t and shouldn’t be) then it’s hard to draw a conclusion.

Yes the ignore function is there but human instinct dictates that we have that urge to know what is being said about us ;)

I would love to see some of the arguments on that forum, 'that extension Shako Builders put on at number 36 is ****, is that right his employees wore chaps and spurs on site?' 'Whitejock's Roofers are useless, the roofer doing the bungelow at number 47 had to be taken off site because he suffers from vertigo' and 'Glory's estate agency was very rude, he told me to **** off before i'd even had a chance to view number 15'<laugh>
