This board is beginning to piss me off big time. Its like the old joke about whats the difference between an airoplane and a Bristol City fan...?

Answer:- The airoplane stops whining when you turn the engines off...

For once and for all, there are some posters who need to get it into their thick skulls that DM IS GOING NOWHERE...!

We are in big trouble no doubt but normally at times like this, fans put their differences aside, get down the Gate and try and roar the team on to victory. Instead, we get persistant chipping away at the NEW management team with accusations of being out of depth, cheap option and other such bollox..

Like it or not, Derek McInnes is here to stay and his signing will in time, be the best thing that this club has done.

Inexperience:- are you ****ing kidding me..? Get a life...

New players no better:- the decline in this squad and in particular, its ability to play joined up football has been in progress for well over 2 seasons now and the previous incumbant was allowed way too much rope and has frankly, probably hung us...

Pearson:- a midfielder prepared to join in the attack and score goals = better than we've got
McManus:- not seen much but, ATTACKS THE BALL = better than we've got
Foster:- looks very solid and a good investment
Davis:- MUCH better than we've got
Wood:- scored regularly elsewhere but appears to be getting buried in the strikers graveyard that it is AG, record suggests he is probably as good as...

Its easy to be critical of new players but the truth is, if you attach a good quality horse to a cart, it becomes a cart horse.

Whatever it was that the squad had has clearly gone, its well past its "sell by" date and I suspect that half of them knowing that they will be out of a job in the summer probably doesn't go to improving morale but there again, you could argue that they should be playing well to put themselves in the shop window.

My own view is that the reason we can't win is the STAGGERING number of free headers/unattacked balls which considering that Millen (aka Red Robin) was a defender, is frankly SHOCKING

If you give teams free headers, you WILL get punished and we do this time after time, game after game, week after week and not just in the box but all over the park - we clearly don't have the players capable of defending properly and if, as a new player, your fellow centre half is no good, you can't be in 2 places at once

So in short, next year, WHATEVER DIVISION WE ARE IN, with DM's playing experience, you can be sure that whoever is in the team, we will have a team CAPABLE OF PLAYING FOOTBALL and not the disjointed crap that we have been watching for the last 3 seasons..

Now shut up and get down AG on Tuesday...

Shiny - was that you being 'ironic' ?

Fact is, Fontaine has been dodgy for years, Carey is past the sell-by-date and probably never was up to the standard currently being purveyed in the Championship. We need Davies FULL TIME (SL - do something useful with your money and buy him/invest in a professional youth academy) to play alongside Cisse.
If we go down its begin again time, and time to be brutal with the wheat and the chaff

Well said Premiership I'm glad that I'm not the only one with all the negative remarks about Del and people realise that the players he has brought in ARE an improvement

no not being ironic, im happy DM is manager, he's come into a team which i lets face it ****, and getting in another manager will accomplish what exactly, yeah thats right NOTHING, we are on a bad run of form, thats it, if we beat Leicester and Cardiff this week he will be the best manager to grace the earth, so i wish people would stop being so negative and boring and just back the man and his team!!!

"if you attach a good quality horse to a cart, it becomes a cart horse"

What a great cliche, We have become the championship cart..

I could not agree more Prem. I am not saying for one minute we are not in a dreadful mess, its just where the blame lies for me.

I listened to Alan Green's 606 on R5L this evening and heard several Chelsea fans calling about their manager's sacking today. They were all united in condemning the senior players at Chelsea who have been there too long and have a hold over the dressing room. If Vilas-Boas picks them, they are now just not good enough for the top end of the Prem; if he leaves them out, then the dirty tricks dept starts in earnest and even more discord is spread around the whole squad.
SOUNDS FAMILIAR? There are obvious differences between Chelsea and Bristol City; they are in the top six in Prem and we are in the bottom six in the Championship! But both teams are under performing big time this season.
Thankfully there is one big difference; Stephen Lansdown, while we may all question his football knowledge, is a very loyal supporter of those he employs at BCFC and especially toward the team manager.
So will the moaners who want to pin the tail on Derek McInnes either emigrate to Outer *****lia or shut their big gobs up. If he gets the sack, then our "Idiots in the Asylum" will have their biggest win of the season. Whether City stay up or go down, it is so important that for the future of our club (yes I bought shares in 1982 with my last £100) that he stays here long enough to clear out the malingerers in the Ashton Gate dressing room and rebuild this summer for a new beginning when the new stadium gets built.
I can't be there until West Ham and Barnsley in April, but am there in spirit. COYR

Agree with all above comments- and put far more eloquently that I could.
Derek McInnes has now had a tenure of 23 games, half a season, and has accrued 25 points, which although is hardly pulling up trees, would be enough for survival, and has had not had the rub of the green in terms of injuries and refereeing decisions. During this period he has also had to bring in new blood.

If DM's results were reversed- i.e. started with Ipswich (A) and last saturday's with birmingham (H)... he would have been acclaimed as a Messiah.

Unfortunately any Bristol City defeat puts a damper on the weekend, and it is easier to blame than see the overall picture.

Best thread on the board for a while.

Getting rid of DM will just mean more confusion and a new manager trying to understand a squad and what it needs in one summer whereas DM will have had more than half a season. All of this possibly occuring in league 1.

Keep him regardless. He's what we've needed for years.

Its all getting a bit fraught at the moment....

At least we know we have passionate support. If it didn't matter we wouldn't argue.
And I would like to say I am not criticizing SL at all. Just wish he would put his money into an inspired youth academy and get some of the best young kids around down here.
Its worked quite well at Southampton, and it also did once for us too

On that subject, we have Ribs, Wilson and Edwards and possibly more that I am not really aware of so the cupboard is not exactly bare...
