I disagree on this because were playing Norwich and the have are good in the air, we got beaten in the fizzy with Simmo there and Santon does play CB every game for Italy U21'S.

  2. You don't have win every ball in the air to do your job. Simmo might not be able to win every ball but the lad has the strength to challenge for them and stop their strikers knocking them down to another Norwich player.

Ba and Best don't win all their headers in the air, but what they do is use all their strength and power to battle with the oppositions CB's so they might perhaps mistime their header or make them unable to knock the ball down to where they need it to go.

All Simmo needs to do, with the help of another team mate as well, is physically battle Morrison and the Norwich players, and do his best to make them unable to knock down the ball to another Norwich player.

Morrison may win headers but he wont have an easy job knocking it down for anyone, it could go anywhere.

I alos don't like the idea of shuffling things around too much. Jonas is back and the left hand side will be great again, Simmo and Obertan are used to each other. It's simpler to just show Perch and Santon Taylors role and hope Colo is back.

3 at the back is not an option, a 3 man defence requires 3 centre backs, not 1 centre back and two full backs. I'd play players in there proper positions with a defensive midfield:

    Krul
    Simpson Kadar Perch Santon
    Raylor Cabaye Guthrie* Jonas
    HBA Ba

*Maybe even Abeid if he is more defensive.

Clearly you have a lot more confidence in Simpson than I do. I really don't think he has the size or strength to be battling anyone, nor the ability to read the game well enough to make up for it.

If he does play there then I hope you're right though.

If we're going to play a full back at CB, for me it should be Santon, he's tallest of the lot and has played there more than the other two as well.

  10. I said this too... but.... I remember certain people saying that playing him in different positions could ruin him...

Naturally my decision would be Santon, but I remember the fact that he's inexperienced at this level as well.

I dont know man. Only Pardew can tell who's ready. We know very little about Kadar, Santon and our fullbacks abilities to play CB.

    Yup <ok>

Jonas will be back to support Raylor so he remains at LB for me and continuity is one of the big reasons for our defensive form so lets try and keep as much unchanged as possible so Simmo remains on the right. Santon and Perch in the middle for me, Perch replaced by Colo when fit. Both Santon and Colo can communicate in Italian so it could possibly result in a surprisingly effective CB partnership

No point in messing the team around I agree. All this bollocks about shuffling things around is silly.

It DID ruin him at Inter, that's why he's here. And I said it was a stupid idea for him to play there a few weeks ago but we have very little choice right now.

Because we arent really short at full back, it's just a matter of who partners Perch in CB.

Tiote and Coloccini might both be fit for Norwich we don't know yet, could Willo be back he is apparently only 10 days away, also what about Tavernier coming into the defence?

I dont think Tavernier would be any better than Simpson at CB, and I'd rather not get my hopes up for Colo and Tiote. Good news is Williamson could be ready to play soon.

In a couple of weeks we could have both Colo and Williamson back so aslong as be can get through Norwich, Swansea and probably West Brom, we should be ok.
