    hello boys and girls,

After the WestBrom loss at home I was so disgusted that this is honestly the first time I have come back onto the not606 since. This is obviously a very dark time for the SAFC despite the spring sunshine finally settling in, and i just spent the last 15 minutes reading everyone else's articles and thought I'd give my opinion.

    Topic 1-Steve Bruce.

To be honest I was very surprised with the amount of people on here asking for the sack. 4 months ago we were all on cloud nine and he was revered. While I do understand the concerns in regards to stubborn team selection and poor overall form, I honestly do not think that him being sacked during this season will help anything. i really don't want us to become just 'one of those teams' who expect miracles from 6 months to a year. I feel that we have made great strides under Steve Bruce and while I would like us to perform better against 'weaker sides', our record against the 'top 6' has been fantastic. I think from this we can take that there is a lot of potential in the side, and if anything they play so much better when the pressure is off...it unfortunately shows the immature mentality we have.
If there is going to be a change in management, please let is happen after the seasons end. I really think it would be disaster if it happened now.

    Topic 2 Squad/Signings-

It looks like another busy summer is going to be upon us, my only thoughts on this is that we sign fullbacks, creative midfielder and strikers. I know thats a lot, but thats what we need to move forward. Don't think anyone would really disagree with that, however one thing I would like to see is another veteran midfielder, with bags of quality that could help nurture our youngsters. Someone who has played at the highest level both internationally and for club, perhaps a slightly younger version of Bolo Zenden.

    Top 3 Top 10-

I think that the top ten is still very achievable and in all honesty in the beginning of the season this is what we were striving for anyhow. Our great form in the firs half of the season deluded our ambitions a little bit and makes a top 10 finish feel like a disappointment when in truth it would be a great improvement. My only hopes are that we continue to grow on sturdy foundations, and we make a good cup run. I think people forget that despite the Carling cup often being dismissed as a nothing cup, winners play in Europe!

I sincerely hope we keep the management team of Brucie, Quinn, and Mr. Short. There is no point in trying to appoint someone new every year. The sign of a good team is consistency and stability throughout the club.

However anything less than 3 points this weekend and I might be having a meltdown.

Welcome back mate and a good post with some valid points. The crux of the problem is that most of us (me included) are getting very concerned about our total colapse in the league. The game against WBA was a complete disaster, which made many fans start to question whether we had the right man in charge. I, like others, have seen some really crap tactics and team selections in the last few weeks and only one person is responsible for both........

I am firmly in the camp of keeping SB until at least the end of the season, then have a look at things. It is too late in the season to be changing managers now.

A win today will keep the wolves at bay and will restore a little faith.

A loss today and the wolves will be down the chimney and crashing through the windows baying for blood!

If we lose today i think his card will be marked, and his position out for tender, and the uproar on these pages with a loss would be an unholy sight to behold, I'm for him out now brigade, but its up to others, however much us lads want a win, if we do lose i wouldn't like to be Bruce after the match, as i think the supporters in the ground will be after his heed

I like Steve Bruce, always have, so watching the present turmoil is far from nice. I also am against the constant saking of managers and want stability but I cant ignore whats going on, whats more I dont think Short will.

I want Bruce to stay, takes us up the table, be a success but its a game by game thing now for me and that just gets him until the end of the season. Regardless of what us experts think I just cant see there not being an inquest then. Short is no fool and he can see whats gone on, questions I thnik he will ask..

Why the slump 2 seasons running?
What will you do to ensure its not 3 seasons running?
    Why all the injuries?
    Why the loss of fight?
Why are so many signings not working out and why did we not know?
Why should I give you one more penny to invest?

Sort will have had many meetings like this in his time, you dont become a billionair without them, he wont be taken in by a cheeky grin and funny quip.

If he backs Bruce after that meeting, so will I. If not, I will understand.

Get the frying pans out Dorset and knack them howling things.
All for keeping SB till the end of the season at best but, unless the back room staff and the majority of playing staff start helping him out and earning their coin then I can't see him being with us next season. He's had 2 years with us and those 2 years he has brought in his own team and although we have improved I don't think the players he has brought in have played for him, he like us and Quinn/Short have been let down by the players on too many occasions. Yes we have seen some great performances from the lads but they are forgotten when you see games like WBA and Liverpool at home and we just roll over.

Personally sick of being a yoyo club, or almost rans, get a manager with belief, who can take this great club forward, and establish us, once and for all.
sorry but Bruce is not that man.
