And what Ferrari were successful straight away when he started there? And yet he helped get them 6 consecutive WCCs. He has won titles at three different teams, so yes I am confident in his abilty.
Benneton - He had Rory Byrne, the 2nd best designer of the modern era Ferrari - He had Rory Byrne, the 2nd best designer of the modern era Brawn - He got lucky with the regulation change. Newey eventually showed him who was boss.
Right yeah he has been involved with winning 8 WDC and 8 WCC and he either fluked them or was just a passenger for them all.
Sorry to go to football for a second, but look at Barcelona, all those titles they win, yet the have Sergio Busquets, who's just a passenger. Ross Brawn = Sergio Busquets.
Sergio Busquets plays only for Barcelona, Brawn has done it at three different teams. Difference (among many).
Okay, spain then. They won the euro's with him as a passenger, then won the world cup, with him contributing nothing. If you put him in any other side, he will be shon up for how average he really is. That's what happened to Ross Brawn. Now at merc, no Byrne, no real guru's, and he's floundering around, with 2 average drivers that he signed, an average car that he has to take responsibility for, and an average team, that spends huge sums of money to finish 4th.
So he has to take responsibility for the car when it is not winning anything but when it does he has nothing to do with it? Despite even forming his own team and winning both championships? And before you say that was a fluke Williams and Toyota also had the DD right from the start and the Red Bull was the best car over the entire season. Also Busquets has only won the WC with Spain, not the Euros. Plus being part of of a whole squad of playes is different to being a technical director, they are incomparable.
Are you joking? The ability of Ross Brawn is fantastic. Do you even remember the fact he came into Honda in 2008, did some major shake ups in the technical department and the next season with some clever insight, won the World Championship? What he did in 2009 was his greatest achievement. He didn't "get lucky" with the regulation change. Unlike most he got clever with the regulation change and used it to his great advantage. He is without doubt one of F1's greats.
I gave mine because he annoyed me! He got my hopes up yesterday and then just drove poorly i think, a bit unlucky i guess, but the lad from 07/08 wouldnt have taken being unlucky, he'd of done his best to get the place back or even fight with button. He doesn't seem to be that person anymore. Plus Massa just wasn't a surpise .
