Good news for football the man is an idiot. Send Harold back and we can forget Spurs until we beat them next year
Look out for AVB guiding West Ham into the Championship from January, after Fat Sam has been given the heave-ho by the porn kings.
Harry is currently about 12th favourite for the job. Most bookies have him at 33-1 or 40-1. You can only get 18-1 with Betfair.
Not overly surprised. Levy does not tolerate losing. Hope they don't try and poach Harry (unless we can then poach McClaren??).
I don't think that Harold will go back to Spurs, he burnt his bridges with Levy last time and I can't see them wanting a 66 year old in charge. I suspect they will go for someone like Laudrop or Hoddle or Solskjar (spelling?)....
Sacked with a win rate of 55% at Spurs and 8 points off the top of the league with players he didn't seem to have a say in buying. No sympathy, but I think Levy should have a go, then sack himself.
Maybe Spurs could sell out to Briatore ... then there would be no need for a manager to pick the players/team.
Another mental sacking. A complete knee jerk reaction, he had to fit 6-8 new players into the team while losing his only world class player.
Levy comes out of all this looking a total arse. He sacked Harry when they were playing their best football for decades, he then got totally conned by AVB's powerpoint presentation, which was apparently the same one he suckered Abramovich with. Then he sells their best player and has Baldini buying every midfielder going spare in Europe. A potentially great team has been dissected and then he sits there like a Buddah chewing a wasp when it all goes tits-up! 10/10 you schmuck!...
I think questions will be asked of him, he seems like a decent manager but 2 quickfire sackings in a row makes it seem like he might not be a guy that players want to be around.
You'll have to explain that one. He bought the 6-8 new players and they have been ****e. Now where has that happened before? Mmmm. Let me think. Were we wrong to sack Hughes then? Losing Bale would have been tough for any manager. But then they got top dollar for him and he was paid to buy the right players and to create a new team which would be able to deliver without Bale bailing them out with his twenty five yard screamers. AVB was hugely overrated and has now flopped with 2 of the big 3 clubs in London. I doubt whether he is going to get another chance.
Whilst i agree with you Yorkie, from reading the Spurs board and other posts, I dont think it was AVB that bought those new players. i think ( I may well be wrong) they have a "director of football" type thing and someone else did the buying. i'll see if i can find the name and post again. I read it last night. Like they say, he's only 8 points off the top of the league. It would make sense if he was where we were last season. Think its more about Levy saving face than anything else. EDIT: Might be Baldini as Sooper said?
