No idea why he thinks he is up for selection, and why he thinks he needs to put his reluctance to play for his country AGAIN across in an interview. England have got by just fine without him and he very rarely puts in any kind of performance worth noting when he does play anyway. I just thought it was typical England "supposed" starlet being up his own @rse to think he was ever on Capellos mind for the 7th! With PLENTY of talent able to fill that role and do a much better job than he has in the last 9 years or so we are better off without you Steve. If England play 3 in the middle then there isn't any competition for the 3rd spot. He probably should be picked if that's the situation. In a 2 he wouldn't be needed.

Gerrard was shocking for the most part at the last world cup, to be honest Capello needs to blood his young players now and dispatch the likes of Lampard/Gerrard/Terry out of the squad. I think Barry is back to his best though and can't see much better holding midfielder so would keep him.
