We got really low home attendances at the beginning of the season.

Behind Nolan! I guess goals talk, and count more for midfielders. What annoys me is when people read Bartons comments about England they say "he isnt even better than Nolan", based only on him scoring more, despite the fact that everyone who watches them weekly will tell you Barton is a much more skilled player.

Not bad considering we were happy to glory hunt for 17th place.

All conquering, Champions League chasing, flag waving, car twoking Liverpool whom you would expect to fill their small ground everyweek yet they average 2500 less than capacity. With a lowest attendance v Villa ar 39079.

So remind me why they need a bigger ground then?

The things which have surprised me:

1). We're third. You would think that the top four or even the top six teams would eclipse us, but it appears not.

2). Specifically; Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea are below us.

3). I'm very surprised that Bolton is so low.

4). I never realised that Blackpool and Wigan had such low attendances. You have to feel for smaller teams like these who manage to get themselves into the Premier League. They can work as hard as they can, but with such small stadiums and such low stadium revenues, it all seems unsustainable and rather futile (unless they get wealthy investment).

5). I thought that Sunderland would be lower than they are. They whinge so much about low attendances and low revenue, yet they still have better attendances than the majority of teams. Not really sympathic now after seeing that.

  16. Why? Apart from 4/5 games we've been getting around 50k attendances? We should always be getting 3rd <ok>

I understand the concept of averages Tash. Thank you.

What I'm saying is that I'm surprised those three teams get such lower attendances than us, considering their European and in some cases Champions League statuses. I knew we had high attendances, but I didn't know we overtook teams like that.
