Ive gotta say thats the best atmosphere I can remember for quite a few years, against a team not in the CL,Top4 , or Everton.

The first 20 of the second half, the place was absolutely forkin electric, and a very good atmosphere all game, like I say and we wernt playin a top 4 club,Everton or in the Champions League

First half was still a bit quiet but agree that it was bouncing second half. It still begs the question to me though...are we now just "sing when we're winning" fans? And will we get a song from the Main Stand this year? :D

The atmosphere will improve as the performances improve. When the crowd are anxious then they will be quiet. It's not really a case of only singing when you're winning. If we (the fans) believe that we can stimulate a response when things go wrong then the amount of noise will continue to grow.

As for a song from the Main Stand - too many visitors!

Hey, there's nothing wrong with the fans in the Main Stand. <whistle>

I think it's only natural to sing when your winning especially when there is the pressure to get results. When we start to get the results rolling like 3 years ago I think we will only get better. Our away fans are definitely the best in the league though, I envy them, would love to go to more away games.

There seemed to be a lot of noise, it sounded like a mid-week CL game, more of the same please.

But in fairness mate I've come away from countless games over the last decade massively disappointed with the crowds inability to raise the team when required. Modern day football supporters believe they have a right to be entertained and seem somewhat embarrassed when required to belt out a tune or two. I see it every week.

What I'll be interested to see over the course of this season is just what sort of impact Kennys passion and having a team with hunger and desire will have on the crowd. While things will never return to the old Anfield of constant songs and humour it would be amazing if we as a crowd could find our collective voice once more <ok>

Perhaps its one more reason why we desperately need a new or refurbed stadium. If for no other reason than the fact that 10,000 people cannot make the same level of noise that 28,000 can. The Kop will always be the heart of the crowd. If your half way up Millenium or Main in the Kop half you cannot see The Kop and sometimes you can't hear it. Hence the rest of the crowd have no lead. Along with being sat that means that the rest of the ground goes quiet. If we build a bowl type ground some of that will be overcome.

I do agree that they style of football we are now trying to play will cause much more excietment.

Yeah the style of play is massively important Dave. I've always believed the "1 up front" formation against the likes of Wigan or Bolton at home sent out a negative vibe through the team and round the ground.

As for the seating and ground size options I'm not so sure. The Brittannia stadium rocks as does an on-song St James Park...and a full voice Anfield even as it is now can blow the bleedin roof off and is rightly the envy of clubs world wide. If we can make as much noise at weekends as we do on a mid-week Euro night (like we did second half yesterday) then visiting teams will quite frankly be ****ting their kex before a ball is even kicked.

The Emirates and Mold Trafford get massively more people in than Anfield and yet never match the 45000 of a top notch Anny roar <ok> 20000 prawn sandwich munchers make little more noise than 200 prawn sandwich munchers

Stewards should be ordered to throw out anyone who's a) not singing, b) spends more than twenty seconds a game texting their mates c) cuddling their bird coz they're a bit chilly d) doesn't reek of ale and that includes the kids (only joking on that last one)

Lets start building the noise up at Anfield now and hope yesterdays increased noise level is a sign of things to come <ok>
