The Proposals Whilst at an early stage, our client is exploring options to deliver a sports and leisure-led development on the site. This could include leisure development such as a sports arena and related uses, a leisure club and 5-a-Side Centre and supporting residential development. Initial capacity testing shows that the site could deliver in the region of 8,100 sq.m of leisure floorspace, plus outdoor sports pitches and circa 270 residential units. Anyone know any later details?
I propose we allow all the Syrian refugees in onto the land, the Corbyn supporters can get behind it.
Would that be Syria ROD or is there some refreshing news out of Russia that I should know about? They deserve what they get and I don't mean the Syrians or Siberians. Does anyone know any travellers looking for a new home?
Syria Mike, to many Guiness's on board from yesterday 12 noon till 3 am and then had to be up at 8am. Can't believe that just 5 years ago I would be back on it straight away now I'm looking at the tinnies and turning my nose up to it.
There already is a Travellers site in South Liberty Lane!!. Come what may BCC owe Lansdown and his pals on Vence for the complete cock up of the whole project. Clearly the new link road has driven a big hole in the Green Belt argument so SL and his pals will need to recoup their losses somhow.
Bring back the Bulldogs, gotta be a speedway track. Or basketball arena and center of excellence for sport. Or sewage treatment plant.
Put a lovely sewage works there for all the nimbys and the dogs to walk round. Then let as many travellers on there as possible, that will keep them sweet.
Bristol City council Don't owe Steve Lansdown anything. They granted planning permission and sold land to Mr Lansdowne. Mr Lansdown can still build on a section of the site and has shown interest in building a sporting facility similar to that of the City academy in Redfield. Similar would be an asset to the area.
When the land was sold nobody including the Council anticipated a Town Green application and when it was submitted nobody thought it would succeed. Then because everyone thought the result was foregone conclusion they failed to robustly fight it. Then when it succeeded they dealt with it unlawfully so much so that a Judicial Review failed. This as disaster form beginning to end for which IMHO BCC were as negligent as Vence
I thought SL asked the council for land between Temple Meads and Ashton Gate and was told the old refuse tip would be the best place. So IMO the council are at fault selling land that has a potential to be classed as Town Green. They should of in my opinion either give him back the money or backed it fully in the courts, which they did not
with the way this country is "exploding population wise" that is just one of about 6 utility centres we need and of course is close to the river!
I can remember seeing proposals for an ice rink and other similar things in Cribbs causeway on the old runway.
