There will be a review on Monday, regarding Ashton Vale http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-17539187 For everyone saying if we go down would this wont go ahead, this was never about just a new ground for BCFC it was also a conference centre hotel and concert arena, which can generate money to the owners. Along with Bristol Rugby only having a year left at the minimal and being owned by SL this will still be his vision. We are looking at this ground on a selfish view that it is all about BCFC, when SL would be looking at this as a business move. If he ever wants to bail out of BCFC it is easier with a new stadium to sell. Prospective buyers will be more interested if the infrastructure is already in place, and plus if it is still owned by SL with a long term lease, he will still have a slice of the pie. So regardless of the outcome of this season I still believe that this will go ahead, just unfortunately look empty when our crowds are like they are at the moment, it will be like the Riverside and Ricoh arena's look empty even though there are 15k inside. I just hope if and when this is completed we get the marketing correct so that we have more fans inside, reduce season tickets by a percentage of years, ie you been a season ticket holder for 5, 10, and so on years, you get a concession on your prices, your prices reflect the loyalty to the club.
Couldn't agree more; a new stadium is for the next forty / fifty years so which tier we are in is irrelevant. However, even if we do go down, the Club must use a wide range of marketing ideas to ensure that the stadium is well populated at each match and that a good atmosphere is there to help the team's performances. This new stadium will give us the opportunity to start afresh by creating a solid home support that gets behind the team at all times and not as at present when we are on a good run. By the way, CS does not have the charisma, or football in his soul to be the leader of the board at a time like this.
In theory if we did go down we should have a team that will challenge at the top of League 1 - crowds will come to watch a winning team (please note I did say in theory!)
