Ashley Williams deal apparently done and dusted. How do you feel about this? As a swansea fan i have mixed thoughts. Yes, he is a good player but he will be 29 next season and the way our team play almost make him look better. If we sell him for about 10-15 million i will be happy. Michael Laudrup can sign brilliant replacements as he has already proved, so i am in no way worried.

Anyway, Arsenals fans thoughts on him if he does go or WHEN he goes.

Id be surprised if he joins us, but if he does, he is 3rd or 4th choice. Seems a very odd move for a 28 year-old.

Can't really see why he'd want to leave Swansea to be honest, as mentioned he'd be 3rd / 4th choice at Arsenal.

Personally I think Vermealen has got bags more quality, he's just had a poor season.

As long as he isn't in the 1st team on a regular basis then this transfer is ok. He should be 3rd/4th choice with Vermaelen.

No way. He would be the 4th choice. Why on earth do we need a 27 y.o. CB from Swansea when we have three experienced high quaity CBs who can all start any match ??? I would rather promote Miquel.

Yep, he'd do well against Stoke, Sunderland and West Ham.

This has got to be a wum, what does that even mean?

They're hardly going to buy a 28 year old for 10 odd million so they can stick him in the reserves <doh>

And if you mean straight into the first team then <doh> <doh> - surely that will all depend on whether he impresses Wenger etc.

It is going to be a very long 3 months.

Fabregas to Manchester United Pogba to Arsenal, come on people, be serious. I'm not even sure that the Mignolet stories are true. Most times you will hear the club the player is departing from announce that they have agreed a deal with the buying club, subject to personal terms being agreed.

All these deals we are hearing about, the players are supposedly talking to Arsenal or Juventus, before the club has any knowledge of selling the player.

The only true deals we are seeing now are players being released and players that will be out of contract, relegated clubs and what-have-you. Before people say Cazorla, he was a special case because Malaga were desperate for short term cash at the time.

It's like the papers and web sites don't even know how the transfer market works!

Half the rumours seem to originate from Twitter these days.

I do think we need a CB as we will only have 3 main CB's currently with Miquel potentially being promoted. Williams is not the answer it is hard to buy an estabilshed CB because either he will be in The Williams bracket and have to be 4th choice or a superstar i.e. Subotic, Hummels etc. I would ideally like a Young but talented player kinda like Utd and Jones. My shout would be Papadopoulos at Schalke 04 - 21 - http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/...verpool-need-to-know-about-the-greek-monster/

Basically a player who would be happy maybe with 15-20 apps for a couple of season but has the potential to be 1st choice in a year or two.

Would much rather see us go after a younger CB and one that can succeed someone Mert in a year or two. A Kyriakos Papadopoulos for example.

Williams is only 6ft tall, hardly going to be amazing when defending long ball teams is he?
